I had it after the car being 3 years old(November 2020 I think it was) , got the latest flush never had a problem since and never had the hard shift issue except right after I bought it and it went away around 1000 miles.

If you were serious.... I can't see who responded, so I am sure it is anonymous.

I responded, had the shudder at about 1200 miles, had the latest Mobil1 flush ( tsb-18-355)at about 1450 miles. That was all late 2018/early 2019. NOw have 4000 miles, smooth as butter.

I'm 61 and have always been a car guy. After graduating high school I went to work at my father's Dodge dealership that he was a half owner in. My first muscle car was a 73 "Cuda" with the Hurst pistol grip shifter. I remember back then just about any 60's 70's muscle car from any manufacture was a harsh beast to drive at normal speeds. The auto trans shifted rough, the manual clutch depress was like pressing on a Cybex leg press machine, the cars rode very hard and were rattle boxes. I love my A8 now that it's fixed! As a side note, when Chrysler went under in the early 1980's I pillaged the parts bin for nameplates. much later on I pressed them into a styrofoam board and framed them. I probably should go on a Mopar forum and post these but I'm sure some old-timers here, like myself can appreciate this Last edited by wingchunsifu; 02-11-2021 at 07:59 AM. |

I appreciate your reply. For me, seeing these numbers gives me hope that the newest flush fixes these. I am a big Camaro fan, traded a 2013 2SS in on this, and did not even know there were issues with the trans. Hoping that also, maybe someone with the issue, that loves the car, and is frustrated with the trans, can see that there appears to be a fix. Even if I had to pay out of pocket, it would be better than getting rid of it. Love this car.

I had a slight shudder issue, new flush fixed it more than a year ago. That was my vote. I like my car. |

This isn't fully representative not simply because of the small sample size but also due to the 7 "not fixed yet" responses, as we don't know if those people also selected "I've had the issue" as expected, plus there may be people who needed more than one "countermeasure", say, a flush followed by torque converter replacement. However, with all that said, it still looks more than manageable, which underlines even more strikingly how much GM dropped the ball on communicating and owning up to the problem—if there's any reason for a class action, the resulting value loss on or A8 cars and trucks should well be it.

2016, no issues so far. Almost didn't respond to the poll because of fear of jinxing myself . .

Thanks for answering. If anything does happen, you now know how successful the Mobil 1 fluid change is. May even consider having them do it for the hell of it!

Believe me, I've thought about it. Asked my service department and they said they wouldn't do it. I may push again. I understand it would be on my own dime, but I figure it would be worth my peace of mind.
