Dealer says "No" to Recaros?

I understand the coupes can get Recaro Buckets in front. Does anyone know why not the verts? i would pay gladly the 2 grand. Is full leather another option? i'm not a fan of the microfiber, but maybe someone could enlighten me... I'm considering the 2014 2SS Vert w/stick shift... thanks

I think you can only get them on a coupe.....full leather is not a option all Recaros come with the middle in suede microfiber and the bolsters and headrest are in leather. Hope this helps!

Verts can get Recaros. They just don't have the built in side airbags.

Is it a option? I just tried on the build your own and it does not show them as a option

from customer care

Kevin:
According to my resources, the Recaro performance seats are not available on the 2014 Camaro 2SS Convertible.

Scott stated at Fest that they would be available on the vert. But

Maybe they're just available on the ZL1 convertible

Recaros available option in a convertible? NO. Absolutely not. Not available. Period. Doesn't matter the trim level. That's why I went ahead and saved a grunch of money buying a 2013 vs. ordering a 2014.

Alright but does anyone know why they aren't an option? Will they not clear the roof or something critical like that or did GM just not see a market case for it?

I would think it has to do with something with the airbags and how they go off.......They do not go off in the same in the convertible. So in that case maybe GM did not want to spend the extra R&D to make them a option for the convertibles....But if I were GM i would make them a option on the zl1 convertibles because If i was spending 60+ on a car the other 2k for the seats I would not worry about.

Alright thank you. I have a customer who wants to order a vert ZL1 and will probably order the seats seperate I just want to make sure everything will fit. Same mounting brackets and everything right?

That's what we have been told. It should be a direct swap.
