Depends on what you do there, most have employee pricing, that will vary by dealership. If your a salesman, you also know all the backdoor crap to look out for as well and can possibly do your own deal.

The truth is there are "codes of conduct" that are signed by employees at the dealership in which many things are outlined to not discuss openly. (Anyway the dealership that I worked for implemented that). Thus, the reason there aren't many replies by dealership employees on this topic.

Driving around cars you dont own and magically you still get to sell them as "new" even though if you were a customer purchasing the car and tried to do the same thing (for the same number of miles) after signing papers ...trying to sell it as new would be illegal.
or maybe getting easy hookup deals with the service technicians to work after hours "off the books" on your car. But all of that is probably offset by the soul sucking profession of being a salesman in a business that the public actively wants gone. It's gotta be as rewarding as being a telemarketer cold calling people all day. |

For a guy working the sales floor, there is no amount of perks that is anywhere near equal to the disadvantages of the job.

It is pretty fun being around the latest and greatest car technology. Especially for a brand like GM who is constantly pushing the envelope.
Also free coffee, cookies, cheap as hell service, and access to detail department are pretty good perks
