HUD not working.

I hate this being my first post but.....I bought a 2018 ZL1 right off the showroom floor last week. Got it home and tried messing with the HUD. I tried everything with the dimmer, display height and couldnt get it to even show. I even disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and hoped that would do it but nope!

I didnt even get to put 100 miles on the car and took it back to the dealership. Its been there since Tuesday morning. Per the shop manager, they have been in contact with GM Engineering trying to find some way to prevent them from having to go into the dash. However, they have now had to do so and apparently, they have to remove the windshield. They assured me they have a new windshield and new everything to replace it like "NEW" but I am still a bit worried. I guess I am just wondering,.....should I be worried? LOL

Has anyone else had this problem?

Wow what a disappointment. I'm sorry to hear your having that issue. I'm not sure if I would be satisfied with that solution. But, if I were you I would go over the car top to bottom when you get it back to make sure it is to your liking before leaving the dealer. Good luck. Keep us informed.

Just heard back from the dealer and the HUD is fixed!!

They did have to remove the windshield but did NOT have to remove the dash. Turns out that the plug was not "snapped" in good from the factory and the plug backed out. The tech was able to snap the plug in good and wallah!

Now I guess they are just waiting on the glass.....I guess once its pulled the seal is part of the glass or something so they cant reuse????

Anyways, seems that the worst is that the windshield had to be removed but hopefully I can get the car back this afternoon or tomorrow!

Get them to check for a defective headliner while they have the windshield out! My 5 month old 17 ZL-1 headliner is starting to curl down on the right side.

yes, have them perform the fogging windshield TSB now as the windshield has to come out in order to do it.

Does that TSB apply to the '18s?

Kinda sad that GM is in the third year of production and STILL hasn't corrected this from the factory, or have a permanent fix for the first two model years...

I love my Camaro but geez GM annoys me with their inability to address issues properly and lack of QC.

Initial quality my ass.

Thanks for posting this. Sadly it would have been my first post as well. Picked up my 2018 ZL1 on Saturday and I've had exactly the same experience with the HUD. First service appointment much sooner than I would have liked.
