EFI Tuning LLC / Yank Torque Converters (8L90E)

EFI Tuning LLC is now selling Yank torque converters - more importantly converters for the 8L90E! Yank is working on marketing collateral and I should have a couple of photos tomorrow but the units are custom billet units - stock components are not reused. The clutch is a triple disc configuration.

I am ordering a 3200 stall unit for my personal car and will be working on a complete transmission calibration for it once it is installed.

Our website will have a purchase option in the next couple of days. If you are interested and have questions please e-mail me at tim@efi-tuning.net. I will work with Yank to address any questions and help you identify the proper configuration for your goals.

Thank you!

Tim

So I ended up ordering the 3400 stall. I hope to have it in within the next 2-3 weeks. I will do a full write up with pics, etc. Once it is in I will work on the tune and then start getting to the track. It should be a solid match with the MSD intake manifold and just about perfect with a 150 shot.

Stay tuned....

Look at what just arrived!

This is a 3400 stall TC (triple disc clutch) from Yank for the 8L90E transmission. Unlike some other offerings, Yank properly tooled up to offer a full billet unit. I hope to have it installed next week. If you are interested in a unit for your vehicle please contact me and we can help you select the proper specifications.

I will get this on our website sometime this week.

Any chance to test in the last few weeks? Looking at a re-stall or think 3400 @ 9.5 is good? Did Yank mention whether they would make a more OEM-like 10.2" street brawler for the FBO crowd? The one you got is more of a power adder converter, correct?

hey Tim, I checked the site and these haven't been added yet. What kind of pricing are we looking at for this?

Hey guys I was out of town for the last week. I'm going to pick up the Camaro this morning with the Yank installed. I will update this thread later today with first impressions. There is a break-in period so I won't be able to do any WOT blast quite yet.

I'm waiting for Yank to get me some collateral but I will get a link up on the website tonight.

Darth,

PM me with what you are looking for as well as any current and/or future mods. I will talk with Dave at Yank and supply you a quote.

Thanks,
Tim

When Dave and I spoke I told him N20 may be a possibility down the road so we settled upon the 3400. I just spoke with the installer and he said it felt really good. Not too loose. I used to run a 4500 stall with a TH400/TB and Ford 9" in my 4th gen. Those days are long gone.

I'll give my impressions later today. I will also inquire with Dave as to what all of the options are for this platform.

Received!

I just drove for about 30 minutes. This 3400 feels really good from a drive ability perspective. There is a short break in period so I can’t WOT but part throttle is very nice. First gear coming from a stop light with normal throttle puts the RPMs at around 2K. Lockup feels good. It is crisp but not harsh.

I was able to rack up the break in miles this afternoon. The light throttle shift points need a little bit of tweaking but nothing major. WOT is solid.
