Sound proof material for trunk?

I have been wonding what material would be good to dampen the sound from My flowmasters. Now this is not because I don't like it (I love it) but the woman and I have one in the oven thats due in may. She happened to mention that she wonders if the car is too loud for the future baby. I was thinking nooo...but there is the drone I'm sure we all experience when at highway speeds. My father mentioned maybe cutting out a couple layers of that colorful thick material that goes under carpet (not sure of the name)and then put it under camaro mat. Anybody of have any ideas or if there is already a product out there?

I think its called hushmat, there are a few others. Its a pain from what I hear....you have to remove all your existing carpet, then stick it to the metal.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1834813#post1834813

GREAT guy to work with- answered all of my questions as I was completely new at doing this.

Also- much cheaper than some of the other products but very high quality stuff

Dynamat. The best stuff you can get for deadening. Knocks down road noise and makes your tunes sound great.

Will using dynamat only in the trunk significantly dampen exhaust drone? I would like to lessen the noise in the cab, but would rather not go beyond the trunk.

Worked for me. Do an Ebay search you don't need to put the name brand down, there are others with the same spec.

Don't cover the options sheet if you do install

I would let the sound be, it isn't overly loud and will help the kids sleep in the car ...

FYI ... As far as kids go, don't change the way you live, as far as noise goes because it will only mess the kid and you up later on ... The last thing you want is a kid that wakes up with every little sound it hears ...

Do a sesarch under "raammat" (the material I used to insulate my unibody). There are 3 or 4 threads including mine with photos in the DIY section. These Camaros have no floor insulation on the unibody from the rear compartment back. Peel and stick RAAMMAT product works great, is easy and costs much less than the brandname product. www.raammat.com

$15 ...water heater insulation with Alumination coating at Lowe's. Thin, easy to lay down under trunk mat.....only problem works too well, I had to remove some of it to hear the exhaust growl.

Did my trunk and under the back seat with FATMAT MegaMat. Made a huge difference in the cabin noise from the exhaust. It also made the stereo system sound much better ! One of the best mods for the money !

FYI: My son loved the sound of a car that had a rumble. At the time he was an infant, we had a Firebird Formula with a significant rumble. My son would go to sleep in seconds when we went for rides. If he woke up crying at night and I couldn't get him back to sleep, I would take him for a drive. Asleep in seconds, you can't beat that. He is now 17 and is an avid muscle car fanatic. You can never teach them the love of cars at too young of an age.
