Scott, my only worry is that it is a car that satisfies the faithful and that being represented by the Disciples. I hope for a car that appeals to a broader base. I guess I'm afraid of 2001 all over again. A car with a V8 that satisfied the Disciples and Camaro faithful but resulted in a very poor V6 coupe that just didn't sell.

The comments that customers would prefer a car that looked like a Camaro rather than have improved visibility scares the crap out of me. You know the main thing Lisa hates about the Gen 5 is visibility.

I'm really liking the car a lot. I just want it to be one she loves to drive too.

It all looks very promising and I can't wait to see one in person.

+1 to the above.

So far most of the comments I've seen from sites other than Camaro or Mustang sites have been along the lines of "It looks the same as the current one, how lame" and "Are you KIDDING me? They made the windows SMALLER?! Where's the periscope?"

We know how much better it is, but will it bring in new customers? Not all of the old ones will trade up.
I guess time will tell.

I have taken my 2010 Camaro to Mosport road course many times and the next day my knees are bruised from pushing them against the center console in tight cornering to stop myself from sliping in my seat.

It looks like you added pading in that area.

Great call!!!

Scott,

Thanks for everything you do to keep churning out great products. We will have one as soon as they become open for delivery. I can't wait to tear into one and start making cool appearance upgrades/modifications for the community.

Camaro needs to be a GREAT CAR, just not a great CAMARO.
Sales need to spread beyond the "faithful".
That is why both the Camaro SS and the SS Sedan NEEDS all wheel drive as an OPTION.
The majority of the population deal with wet/cold, the competition offers AWD, and the ATS already offers AWD.
I already have a Corvettes in my garage that sit through the cold and wet months.
Does it need a DCT too?

My 4 seaters need to be all season capable.
Just... no.

Also, none of the Camaro's true competition offer AWD.

Cool to see you chime in Scott. I remember following many of your posts back in the day before the 5th Gen. Always insightful. Always nice to hear OEMs listen to the faithful enthusiasts.

Awesome job Scott. We all know cars look better in person which is cool because I already love it. Thank you for keeping it CAMARO yet pushing the envelope. I am not really a blue car fan but I cannot believe how good it looks on this car. It shows off the lines perfectly..... not to mention the interior which is a home run in my book!

It's THE performance car to buy right now, isn't it?

Now that the Ford GT is getting a DCT, expect DCT to trickle down to the Mustang.

But, I'm buying a 2016 Camaro SS with a stick because I am willing to accept a rev matching stick at a 1SS price point.
I already see a hint of DCT making its way to lower-level Ford models after the GT. The auto trans Mustangs come standard with paddle shifters, so it's not unimaginable that a DCT/DKG/SMG, etc. transmission could be coming in the very near future.

We just got back from the reveal i had Internet issues all weekend dam Canada. So this one will be short till I have the time to post more of my thoughts.
The car is everything I could have hoped for and more from interior,to exterior, technology, weight, power. Wait till you see it in person so sexy. I can't wait to order mine if you don't like this car you'll never be happy. As for Scott and everyone else from Gm that was there some of the nicest people you could meet. More to post but a lot to do before work tomorrow Saturday was an awesome day.

Scott thank you and Chevrolet for making the best Camaro yet. Thank you for reducing the black plastic on the back end of the car, and giving it a great , modern interior !

Now can we do something about that wing on the back of the SS ?
