2015 Camaro build-out is scheduled for either beginning or middle of September 2015 (can't remember exactly). I saw the screen at the dealer that had this info on it.

Beez...what does it say for 2015 MY - can you determine last day to order? Good job on the screen shot and annotations though so...does build out mean last production date?

The special ordering cut-off date for the 2015 Camaro coupe is June 26th. Final build-out (when the plant expects to have built the last car) is sometime in September. And when it comes to the 2016 Camaro, I don't see what is so implausible for an August 18th opening of the ordering banks. Just because you can't see them now? So what? It's 4 months away. And maybe it's just when the 1st consensus cycle starts. Someone said production is supposed to start in October. So August makes sense for orders to start being taken.

I just wonder how the timing for the "first to be ordered then built" Gen6 will compare to that of the Gen5. With my 2010, I ordered in October of 2008 and received him in June of 2009. Selfishly, I wish FBodFather was on Camaro6 as he was with Camaro5, but I would rather he get well instead.

I'm actually getting a little worried about this. My lease is up Nov. 7th and I was hoping to drop off my 1LT and pick up my new Gen6 SS on the same day. 1st world problems right? LOL

I'm in the same boat. My lease on my 1LT ends in late October/early November and I was hoping the 6th gen would be available by then. I think we will start seeing them on the streets in late August, early September but that's just my guess.

I hope so. I've started weighing my options though.

heres a question...(now I don't know how common it is so don't jump on me too hard for it) is it common for a car company to release a RWD "sports car" right before the winter months? would kind of cut down on sales in the northern states and Canada right?

Thats a good question. I bet they do all kinds of polling and focus group testing on which kinds of car sells better during which seasons. I got my 1LT in November and I'm in Western New York. It's not going to effect my decision one way or another but you never know. I would think the southern market where winters are either very mild or non existent is by far the bigger market for performance cars anyway. But I'm not a marketing exec. and I didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night.
