Full respray paid for by GM. See through mosaic black paint on rear quarter shoulders toneau cover, inside trunk and shit paint on strut towers.

Same thing here.

I had the paint corrected and opticoat applied and since then it's looked great. Orange peel is quite common on modern non-exotics.

Are you saying your vehicle or the one I am looking at? If it was yours, what year is it?

Weird, I have a 2018 Summit White and have some weird dull quarter sized spots on the trunk lid and rear quarter under the clear coat. They look like water spots but under the clear. Can only see it in direct angled sunlight.

The Black Mo I am looking at is in Ohio. I am having a hard time getting it on the schedule to fly out and look at. There is a black one in Jersey and a couple of Grey ones in Jersey. Based on what I learned here over the last week, I will not buy one without seeing in person. Any great car guys that can check one out for me in Ohio? Ill pay them for their time. Thanks, Mike

Sorry for the late response. Speaking of mine. Not the one you’re looking at.

The dealership washed the car at delivery even though I told them not to and in the sun it looked like a 5 year old paint job. Took me 5 hours to buff the paint. Even the California car duster leaves swirl marks, so can't even use that. Have to just wash it when dusty using a 2 bucket method and single use towels.

After a thorough cleaning, I clay barred the car and the clay scratched the hell out of it. Had to polish it again and this time I used a ceramic coating to try and protect it. Will see how it does.

My RAM and other mopars I've owned recently have hard paint. I run that truck through snow, rain, mud, dirt, and take it through car washes and at 4 years old and close to 60k miles, no swirls or scratches. Looks brand new still. You can feel the difference just by touching it.

I wouldn't even think about a dark color on a GM. Silver, grey, or white.
That's interesting. When my detailer did something like 9 hours of paint correction on my 2SS last year, his chief complaint was that the paint was too hard.

Maybe depends on color or production date or maybe I got a dud, but my paint is soft. In fact, u can scratch it with a fingernail. Bad clear coat?

Is that mosaic black? Hard to tell in those pics. Maybe it’s the lighting.
