You guys have a ton of music on your USBs. I do have about 64 GB but less than 1/2 that would I actually listen to. How did that happen?

After spending some time with a 64 GB NTFS formatted drive I can say it works in the CA6, but the same drive formatted FAT32 connects with music faster and is much faster switching songs. Back to FAT32 for me.

I also reformatted my Ipod to Fat32 and seems to be working fine.

The app name is incredibly misleading, and a trademark violation, there's no CarPlay functionality whatsoever.

It's CarPlaylist, not CarPlay List or CarPlay Playlists. There's no trademark and it was never mentioned this has anything to do with CarPlay. It's just a tool for making playlists for use with USB sticks.

Is that what Apple's lawyers told you?

The trademark is for "Apple CarPlay™" specifically.

Sorry for the confusion. CarPlayList is just a name I made up, CPL for short. No big deal. I did not bother with a TM as this is a free app for now.

I did find out that CPL also sort of works on android phones. All you have to do is build the play lists on a USB and copy that to the Music folder on your phone. The play lists work but oddly a second playlist with zero songs is also created by the phone. Also currently CPL will only create play lists on the root of a USB drive. I can change that. At some point I will put out an update as there a few little things that could be a bit better and add better Android capability. But sorry, not much interest so far in Apple support.

Just not all the time. I have tried four different Ipods with my SS. Maybe I will start a thread on that. If anyone is interested in dead technology.

I forgot about the YouTube idea. I will do that next to show CPL in action.

Also if you choose a BIG playlist or add 1,000s of songs to a USB (especially a 2.0 USB) It can take a long time to build the drive. I think in a future version I will warn you before you build. Maybe I can do a small test to baseline the time. Adding features is fun but I have to be careful not to make the UI too complicated. I just got a hold of a macbook pro and I will swap in a big SSD and get to work. The Mac dev software is free! Nice.

Thanks for all the feedback CPL users!
