Are You Satisfied So Far With the Sixth Gen?

With the new performance specifications that came out last week to go along with all the pictures, right-ups and videos circulating out there for the sixth gen, I think that Chevrolet just solidified the fact that the name Camaro is about Americana. It's about having fun. Happiness is Driving a Camaro.

Now, make my damn car and transport to me A.S.A.P. free of charge minus the -$995. Yea Right, I wish!

Everything but the price of the SS. On the SS I think they should have taken out some of the performance stuff and left that as a stand alone package (3.73 gears, summer tires, performance suspension, extra cooling, brembos, 20" wheels, etc), allowing some of us that want a more 'Touring' V8 to have that option and at a $2500 or so lower price tag.

Yes, they improved on the car in every way and have me interested again after passing on the whole 5th gen due to excessive weight. A lot of people have told me that if I was a true Camaro fan it wouldn't have mattered but it always bugged me that even with an LS3 the 5th gen SS was no faster than the 4th gen's lowly LS1 because of its size. The Z/28 was tempting though (always wanted an LS7 car and it even had Carbon Ceramic brakes!) but you couldn't get the color HUD or some other things I think of as essential.

The only thing I am waiting for now are the announcements of the performance models. That is where my interest lies.

But then it would be like the Mustang where you would have to pay for the cooling, brakes, etc. The different drive modes would tailor the throttle and transmission. Plus you can option for MRC. Being that it is standard, and out performs 1LE Gen 5, the pricing is pretty damn good.

I agree with post above the 5th gen was bloated and pushed me away for a sports car. I am a huge camaro fan. This car I am a buyer so I am satisfied. I think the pricing is inline for what we are about to get as well.

No offense but why buy a camaro for a touring car? Would that not be a Challenger? Now a grand touring car is different. Especially an SS? Is this not sacrilegious? SS means Super Sport. I just do not ever see a touring camaro. How about a chevy ss? Or maybe trying to pull of the grand touring like a bentley continental in a camaro?

In general I'm very impressed with the 6th Gen. Especially the new convertible! I do wish there was an option for a square tire setup and I'm not crazy about the summer only run flat tires. Guess that will be on my dime when the time comes.

I am tired of seeing misinformation spread about the cooling.

There are 3 radiators because the car needs them. Chevy said that the car has the 3 radiators because of the narrowness of the front of the car. They could not fit in 1 radiator that would provide adequate enough cooling for the motor.

Now yes any transmission coolers and such should have been options.

Lost interest not saying I won't be a buyer down the line but for the price my 5 th gen is close with a 3:91 better tires cold air ported throttle body and a tune. So I really don't think the car is that fast it's fast but not for the money. I'll drop another 3,000 save 30,000 and be kicking ther ass on the street. The only thing that appeals to me is the 8 speed all the othe crap I can careless about.

#Fanboy here. But rightfully so. The design, the specs and the name. Can't wait for my 2SS.

Say what you want about styling, that's your opinion.... but your 5th gen ss is not even close performance wise to the gen6 ss

Pretty hard to be satisfied with a car I have yet to actually see in person, or sit in and test drive.
