Noob question : does pedal shift on steering wheel work if I put the shift knob on dr

Just wondering if pedal shift behind the steering wheel work if I have the car on drive mode? I'm so stupid that actually thinking the plus and the minus sigh pedal behind the steering wheel were the volume control on the radio......I kept pressing them when I was driving..... Will that harm my car ?

Depends on your model. 2LS pedal shifters are different than the rest. What do you drive?

just curious, what's different about them?

as for any other model, nothing happens if you press the shifters when in Drive. won't hurt anything by pressing them in Drive.

Depending what year and model.
Mines will not work @ all in D.
Later years they will for a moment if you need to pass somebody or go down a hill. Think base model they are pretty much useless.
Like I said depending on the year and model - check your owners manual.

2LS paddle shifters are not true shifters. That's all. They still do stuff, just not what the 1LS, 1LT, 2LT and SS shifters do. (Chevy doesn't really advertise this, lots of fourms discuss this info. Only reason why I know.)

1LS will not have paddle shifters as it is a manual only car.
