Sadness - end of true legend, LS7 gone for good
One of my favorite engines of all time.
The new NA LT6 probably makes the LS7 irrelevant, but in its day this was as awesome as it could get. Still a sad day as an enthusiast to see it go. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/smal...?ocid=msedgntp

That is sad. I had an opportunity to drive a yellow C6 Z06. I took it really easy as I didn't want to be a Mustang driver. Great car.

I wouldn’t say the LT6 makes the LS7 irrelevant. I doubt you’ll be able to buy a crate LT6 and make it fit in a lot of applications like the LS7 can fit. Also the LT6 is going to be a MINIMUM of 20k for a crate engine if GM even lets us buy one. The LS7 was 12k. While not cheap it’s significantly cheaper than the LT6 will be. Also I’m basing my price prediction of the LT6 based on what a used crate voodoo cost which is roughly 20k.the LT6 is a far more impressive engine so I’m sure it will probably cost more.

I had a C6 Z06 carbon edition that I tracked a few times. LS7 was a monster - 7 liters at 7000 rpm was insane. And it sounded great too. Here's a vid of the factory stock exhaust on my 2011 Z.

Ditto, had a 2009 Bright yellow C6 Z06. To this day my seat oh the pants meter says it was the fastest feeling car I ever owned.

Seems like there’s quite a bit of former c6 zo6 owners here. Those of you who have switched to 6th gen ss/zl1, do you wish you still had your c6 z06? I’m seriously considering making the switch so I’m interested in anyones input. I am either getting an ss 1le, zl1 or c6 z06.

I remember the first time I got to ride in a LS7 Corvette. We were doing 80 before I knew it, it was incredible.

A good friend of mine bought a new 2009 ZO6 and I finally got a ride in it and was blown away by the raw power of that LS7! All they were was a detuned race motor for the street and it sounded awesome especially accelerating thru the gears.

From the dyno graph I have seen, LT1 in the SS makes about the same torque/power as LS7 up until about 4k RPM thanks to techs like VVT and direct injection, but above 4k RPM... The LS7 blows the LT1 away.

I'd love to have one but prices went way up with the pandemic, hard to say if they'll ever come back down.

Sad about the LS7. It has the magic number - 427. A storied number in Fords and Chevys back in the day. And while I car love(d) my 3 6th gens I still miss my Gen5s.
If I hit the lottery I will look for a clean 2014-15 5th 2 SS 1LE ( I did own a 2013 2SS1LE!) and drop an LS7 under the hood using Z/28 parts. I would keep my LT1 for taking more relaxing drives. Like the 1/4!
