Trust me I've been thinking about the SS bumper. I like it, and it looks way better with the heritage grille, which in my opinion does not work too well with the V6 bumper.
That being said, I don't think I'm going to do it. I'm not sure what all hardware would transfer over to that bumper, and also I just don't want to make the car look like something it isn't. I'm fine driving a V6, and I think it will look even better with the GFX once it's all pieced together. My plan got a little messed up today because State Farm is considering it a collision, so that means higher deductible and less money on my end. Hopefully everything with the fog light can be re-used, it still works (glass is ok too) and the plastic surround looks to be in-tact. I can hopefully just pay the dealer to put a new paint-matched bumper on and go from there. I do not want them to blend the fenders because they can match it close enough so there's some money saved. We'll see on Monday I guess when I get it appraised. Have to drive it as-is till then though... |

Man, that sucks. It's time to rebuild it bigger, faster, stronger!

Looks like it'll be harder to upgrade to the lip than I was hoping. Insurance estimator found some fender damage as well, which makes sense as it was designed to crumple. I hope to get it up on the lift at work and check out the damage myself, see what I'll need to replace and what I can re-use and pop it out so I don't have to keep driving it like it is haha! I'm hoping not to have to use all of the $1200 I got from State Farm but we'll see how extensive the damage is and what kind of prices I can get on a GM bumper.

Finally got the Hulk in the shop today. The estimator at the dealer found the fender damage for me because I really couldn't see it. So that ruins my plans of getting the car upgraded at the same time as getting a new bumper. Looks like I'll have to use all the money they gave me. On top of that I have to pay the extra to get a factory bumper thanks to State Farm being a bunch of assholes. Yay.

ZL1 fascia! Sorry to see the hulk down :(
As far as SS fascia goes, pop in the side markers, bumper support, and fogs from your bumper and you're good. All you'll need is grilles.

Good to know about the SS bumper, they were the same price but I decided I prefer the original concept car look. I do like the lip though, so I'm kinda bummed about not being able to get it. On the upside I think I'm going to order some ebay GM-X look-alike parts (front lip, sideskirts) and have them painted Cyber Gray to match.

I'm pretty confident it wasn't.
I just did a little research on the ebay kits, that looks like a no-no. Anyone got any GFX they're selling? :-P I just want the lip and skirts, rear diffuser is a bit too much for my taste. |

Definatly a no-no. By the time the body shop is done shaping and fitting you'll have a body kit made of bondo lol

I want the body kit but man no one sells the GM one for any less than $1499, and that's not happening. I should have just ordered it I guess. I was trying to keep my order under a certain sticker though, otherwise I would have ordered the Boston system as well.
Shoot for that matter I would have ordered a 1SS if I had had the money. |
