There is also Chicago, where the 5th gen ZL1 was first shown, between the Detroit & New York shows.

They will bury the ZL1 name for now....

The Z/28 name badge will live on as the next gen track killer Camaro.

There's no need to, once again, change the Z/28 when ZL1 is a well known badge. Calling it ZL1 will avoid controversy over a blown Z/28.

Who is "they"? And yes the actual SS badge did carry on from 5 gen.

They are talking about the physical badges themselves, not the names. All the other badges were redesigned.

The Z28 name has much better recognition. Doubtful they will build a ZL1 and a Z28 considering the difficulty selling a stripped out $76K Z28.

Ford is doing it right now with their GT350 and the GT500 which is most likely on the way.

We'll just have to wait and see if GM does go ahead with a Z/28 with a new powertrain or just do a capable LT1 powered 1LE to compete with the GT-350.
