I really hope you are right. But just remember there was no Camaro built from 2003 to 2009. Obviously there was a lot of pent up demand. I think the monthly sales numbers this winter will be a good indication of how sales will go over the next couple of years.

Might want to put some ice on that....

Well, considering some of the comments in here it sure seems that some folks wouldn't mind not having a v8 and going with a FI 6cly. or even a 4-banger. Want good is a musclecar with less than 8 cylinders?

Hell, if we're going to follow their reasoning, why not finally ink the Rotary Corvette Deal. Hmmm... and it could be hidden somewhere in the new debt deal so as to not raise any eyebrows until it is ready for production!

But,

Make it at least a six cylinder engine. Turbo Camaro, AKA "SSX", do I see another Buick GN car-like creature?

Absolutely.

Hint to Corvette: You're gonna need a turbo....and don't forget, the very first Corvette was in fact a six cylinder.

The playing field was tilted when GM put the 3.8L turbocharged intercooled engine in the lineup...if you can remember, it was the fastest US production car in those years (86-87) and yep, even quicker than the treasured 'Vette.

Do it again GM - c'mon, do it again.

Sucks

My dealer at the dealership said that people who live up north would get their cars first and the further south you live the later you will get it. I live all the way south texas!

There's no reason to believe you idiot dealer on this. Allotment is based on availability and previous sales. If your dealer has no Camaros coming, it's because they suck at selling Camaros.

Maybe he is talking about shipment... like if someone in MI ordered the same time as he did...the truck would drop his car off before they would drop his off.

ok he told me Chevy would distribute the 2012 Camaro starting in the Northern states and work their way down. Eventually us down in the South would get them l8er than everyone else. Not sure how accurate that is.

If in terms of logistics and shipping time like CamaroKid suggested...well, yeah. It only makes sense, right?

But if he meant that Chevy was going to honor northern orders first, or something like that....that sounds pretty silly to me. And I imagine there'd be allocation laws against it...

Yea i know they said production of 2012 Camaros started july 18. I actually was gonna get a 2011 Red Jewel 2LT Camaro but i decided to wait for the 2012's when i heard about the new features. Kinda disappointed RJT was removed (poor Japan) but what really has me excited was the Rear View Camera Package!
