Wheels for auto cross and road course

I've recently stumbled across the forgestar m14 wheel. They are modular wheels with a forged lip and flow formed center. Is anyone running these? I was thinking of going with a 18x10 size with a square set up, but need the right offset to clear brembos. Anyone have any advice? Also I can't seem to find prices on these easily, any ideas?

That was my favorite wheel for a while until I laid eyes on this new model they came out with! It seems there is a bigger selection of tires for 18's vs 19's as well.

You sure you want to even think about Forgestar wheels for track use?

I only sell Forgeline wheels out of my shop. Specifically7 the GA3R which is rated for use with racing slicks and covered by a warranty under race conditions. They are either expensive wheels of the cheapest health, life and car insurance you'll ever buy.

Read post #23 in the link below where Vorshlag thoroughly discusses Forgestars and the video posted above. I track my Forgestars without issue but this is only my first set.

I whole heartedly agree with JPSS. I have a good friend that had similar failure with a set of Forgestar wheels at NHMS in his 370Z on BFG R1'S. It happened right a the apex of the south oval. Now he drives a Miata.

Im not saying forgestars are good or bad, because i see people with heavy cars beating on them with no problems, but i wonder if people think they are forged?... Theyre not.
All of these wheels (flow form, spun forge etc) start as cast aluminum, not forged. Then the barrel is stretched over a die or under a press, but the face is still cast... Now, the face is the weakest part. The face of one wheel can experience the entire weight of the car in hard cornering, repeatedly. Its a risk you have to weigh...

Well I came across the weld RTS wheels still not exactly an inexpensive option but man do they look good. I believe the 18x10 setup would be around 620 a wheel but They look sharp! Wonder how much they will weigh. Also shouldn't have too much problems fitting them over the brembos

Why not just look for a set of 1LE or Z/28 takeoffs, wheels we know are good to go??

I couldn't agree with Pete more, if you want the proven square setup the z28 wheels are where it's at and can be had for $2500 if you watch for deals. Or save up some more cash and go with the forgeline GA1R OR GA3R in 18's or 19's. Wheels are NOT the area to cheap out, remember those wheels and tires are all that's between your precious car and the ground.....

I hardly think weld wheels are cheap. I personally don't like much how the zl1/1le wheels look maybe it's just so many people run the replicas. I do like the look of the z/28 wheels however they would be the real deal but would be the same amount of cash as the weld wheels or a little more. Not to mention there are a lot of replies of this wheel out there too. I'm not saying I NEED to be running the most exclusive wheels or anything I just want something strong and light from everything I've read the weld RTS. Wheels will clear the brembos, they are road course test and proven on gm high tech magazine's STI killer camaro (4th gen) and from what Little I've seen these wheels in person they look great on our fifth gen. (And look amazing on c6 vettes)

We are not suggesting they are. When I think of weld I think drag racing. Just ask them straight up.

Dear Weld Wheels,

Are your wheels designed and tested for HPDE road course use?

See what they say.

I think that's the best way to find out for sure. Anyone here running them or know anyone who is?
