No Dammit!! It's Not a V8!!

I love my car. You SS V8's out there can smile. But it is really annoying when i go places and all I hear is, "That the SS V8?" Then I like have to say in shame or something, no its a V6. Like in dissapointment. Don't people realize that this V6 has 304 HP and is one of the most advanced engines around? I have driven the SS with a V8. Much respect to you guys, but I just couldn't spend 35-38K for it. This V6 Camaro could wipe most cars out there today even with a V8, i.e. the Mustang. So I am proud of my V6. Its hella fun to drive. For those summer days I want a V8, I have a 71 Chevelle SS with a 454 (545HP 566TRQ) and 4.10 gears with a T56 6 speed that will blow the doors of most any Camaro out there. But as my daily driver and I am at the gas station the next time I am asked if it is a V8 or an SS, I am going to say.....Its a O Ten Camaro Bro...Who F#$$in Cares!

i dont like this question, i get it all to often. I usually say somthing like, "Sorry im poor" or "sorry i care about the evnironment...a little" they just kinda look at me, and then go about then jump in their truck/SUV/van, drive a circle around my car, wipe the drool from their chin, and drive away.

Lots of uninformed people out there. I get the question too as they are staring at my SS badges. I tell them yes it's the V8, but I always let them know the V6 has over 300hp. Their eyes light up when you tell them that.

well at least u have a ss thats a beast, but not to be mean and talk down about the v6...... but the v6 is actually kind of slow... just because it has 300hp doesnt mean its fast lol.... my friends 350z it would kill a LT.... same hp but the Z weights less....... the v8 camaros is like having a twin turbo v6 camaro lol...... i personally wouldn't buy a camaro without a v8 even if i dont have the cash......

Really, why get upset with someone for asking a question? Not everyone knows these cars like the people on here. I had no problem telling people that is was a V-6 when I had one.
I had nothing to be ashamed of.

A Camaro is a Camaro regardless of trim. The car looks beautiful period... although SS does look a little bit more aggressive. Fear not V6 owners... twin turbos are probably coming and you got MORE than enough body kits and packages to stay fly.

I just tell people it's the 304 HP V-6. It has more HP than any other Camaro that I've ever owned(all V-8s) and my Mustang GT. Sometimes you have to educate people.
