It's not low priority for cops... it comes down to what can and can't be solved. A murder even high profile can only consume so many man hours if there's no leads. Even if the surveillance showed a forrest green honda accord side swipe your car what do you honestly think the responding officer is going to do for you? PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HE SHOULD DO NEXT!???? Should he advise his Sgt. that he will no longer be responding to calls for service for the next 12.5 hours because he is going to be investigating a hit and run traffic collision? GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! If there was no suspect licesne plate left behind your screwed.. Even with a witness to the entire thing theres nothing that can really be done without that plate...
