One of my local dealers had several on order. One being a Riptide blue 2SS convertible that sat unclaimed while at status 3000 for weeks. I just put a deposit on it.

I worked at a dealership for 5 years in between IT positions and they do $3k-$4k of crap too, and they said they let people walk that don't want to pay it, even for me, so I went to another local Chevy dealership and bought my 2023 convertible GMS with no addons, and they let me have an allocation for a Collector's Edition (first on the list waiting for months) that was just built. No fees will be added. Just ask the dealers and make them stand by their word.

The flashing 3rd brake light alone would turn me away even before hearing the price of this "finest" "protection" they insist on adding. Flashing brake light, what a bunch of ricer nonsense. I'm not even sure it's legal, although no cop will pull you over for these things.

I thought the Carl Black $3000 treatment was bad, but I just hung up with Hendrick's in Atlanta and they add $5100!!! Looks like I need to avoid the big cities.



I do have a no obligation first right of refusal on a car that's going to be in NC eventually. It's very close to what I would have ordered, and they "only" add $800 plus the usual $700 doc fee. They said it was already produced, and in transit, so that probably still gives me some time to find something closer.

Timely post...I've owned many Camaros over the years and it hit me like a ton of bricks that this will be the last of them...for a while. It's been on my mind that I kind of want one.

I was a 20 year old kid back in 2002 working at a Chevy Dealership the summer that Camaro production ended. We had just delivered the last of the 35th SS cars that we were going to get. One last unsold Camaro remained on the lot, a Navy Blue Metallic 2002 Z28. Low option car, cloth seats, but it did have T-Tops and a 6-speed. I would have given my life savings for that car if I could have afforded it, that's how my mind worked back then. And then, a few weeks later, it was gone...someone bought it. The day I came to work and it wasn't there, it just felt weird. An era had...ended.

So I've got half a mind to go out and try to wrestle one last new modern SS as inventory starts to dry up....

Cool story. I'm hopeful that I'll have almost exactly the car I would have ordered next week when it arrives at the dealership.

I work at a dealership and we can still take an order, just depends on allocation which is given out bi weekly, our auto group in NJ has 5 Chevy stores and we had a bunch of allocation early on and now we wait till an update for next month with the strike and if it is going to affect production! My 2SS CE order just got a TPW on 11/13 so that is telling me not many more at least of the CEs allocations will be going out since production ends in January! Curious to see how many more will be getting allocated for the remainder of the model year.

I called around for a few weeks before locating a 1LE that wasn't spoken for. I was beginning to lose hope. However, I was able to finally find one available with the options I had to have. Just keep trying. It won't happen if you give up.

Nothing special. White 1SS with a manual trans. Still looking good for the one in NC that's reported to be on a rail car in WV now. I'm just waiting for the actual availability date to reserve a one way rental car and hotel.


BTW, I see NWFL. I was born and raised in Pensacola. Lived most of my life there until about 9 years ago when we moved to East TN.

No dealerships around me are taking orders either. Since they don’t believe any more allocations will be given to fulfill demand as they stand.

Two of the dealers my order is in won’t take any ZL1, C8, or SS orders after September.

Thanks to all who commented. I got relatively lucky and found a 2024 1SS that was almost exactly what I would have ordered. It was in transit to Sir Walter Chevrolet in (wait for it...) Raleigh NC :-) Just got home with it, so best of luck to all who are still looking.
