I'm assuming you have a Kenwood radio installed with the factory speakers and amp.
In that case, changing the subwoofer settings on your Kenwood head unit will have no effect on the subwoofer in the car. Only adjusting the bass on the equalizer or tone settings will.

May change out all the speakers soon but that’s for another day. Thoughts on at least running different fronts on the kenwood vs the ba amp? |

Here’s what I did if you want better sound at a reasonable cost - I added a powered subwoofer and new components to the front. Total costs was about $300. Didn’t touch and no plans to replace the rears because I like what they call “front soundstage” and I didn’t really want to snatch out the stock BA amp. This, along with the Pioneer head unit is more than decent for me.

I just wanted to chime in and say that when I did my radio swap, I found that the speakers sounded terrible using the stock amp. I did what I think the majority did and upgraded the amp and left the speakers. I used that harness we’re not allowed to talk about and it worked out well. I also went with a powered sub and sounds great now. |

I know a lot of people are big on replacing the BA amp but I didn’t want to go that route. With the sub running about $200 and the components running $80, along with the previous installed Pioneer HU I’m finally satisfied with the sound. You could actually step up one level in both the sub and components from RF and still be under $400.
