I checked with Haggerty on insuring my car for stated value of $75K (what I have receipts for). It is $1800/year.

Right, what is the point of this,it would not matter what anyone else payed, unless we all lived in the same ZIP,and had the same limits....With the same records....

If you ask insurance companies, they will give you a quote.

Perhaps, if you want an accurate estimate, given your specific driving record, age, geography . . . may I suggest asking the insurance companies directly?

That's what I did.

A lot of it depends on your location.

Where do you guys recon I would land in car insurance costs for a 2014 ZL1?

- I am 29 years old,
- Moved to USA about 1 month ago (no records in USA),
- I have no drivers license yet (Still driving on my Swedish one) but will get one before I get a car,
- I live in Dallas, TX,
- The car will be parked in a private garage attached to my apartment,

You think I would land somewhere around $2,000 USD / year?

I cannot search online as I have no Social Security Number yet, as it is being processed by the Social Security Administration right now... So it iwll take about 2 more weeks before I get mine.

YOU NEED TO SHOP FOR INSURANCE BEFORE YOU BUY A CAR.

I sincerely believe that your lack of a driving record and driving license in the US will kill your rates. (I hope I'm wrong)

What do you mean by that I need to shop for insurance before I buy the car? Can I buy an insurance for a car that I do not own? Its not connected to a VIN/specific vehicle?

I got support from State Farm over a chat just now and they gave me 3 quotes for a 2014 ZL1:

Basic: $125/month
Standard: $360/month
Premium: $387/month

Pretty OK actually! I was positively suprised! I was expecting far higher rates as I do not have any history (as you expected).

I would just pay the full year directly for a standard insurance straight away when buying the car and dont have to worry about it anymore.

$53 a month. I ensure a Traverse, Evo 8, Mazdaspeed 3, and the ZL1 for $178 a month. Not bad getting older.....

Haggerty IMHO is a joke I prefer Grundy I have two cars under Grundy for an agreed Value of $30k on each and I am paying just a hair over $500 a year with Grundy you should be in the range of $800 on your car.
