actually, what many places like CA are looking to do is move away from the gas tax and charge drivers by the mile.

but electric is a scam anyways. we have to burn coal to produce it, and coal is far dirtier to burn than gas. not to mention, your loosing a good deal of energy in the process. also, the electric grid would never be able to support millions of cars. heck, a lot of places already have to ask people to conserve or use rolling blackout at times because they can't keep up with current demand. what do people think is going to happen if you have millions of cars plugging in to charge?

oh, and the Tesla model S has been plagued by typical EV problems, and is anything but a success. it still suffers from range issues, charging issues, technology issues, cold weather effects on the battery and range, and a host of others. the first "test drive" was such a disaster they redid it in a pretty tightly controlled PR bubble.

lol, it's not capitalism when the government is doing the investing. that's actually what fascism was. from an economic standpoint.

They aren't necessary on a V6. An SS maybe if you drive it hard. They are more hype than anything.

I bought my 1LS about 2 months ago and I already have 4400+ miles on her with no problems and since I drive many miles and hours for my work I too wanted something that keeps me smiling. The last vehicle I bought for work was okay but at the end of the day I felt like I was giving up something, like enjoying the drive, for no reason other than to save a small amount of cash. Well, I learned my lesson and I now have what I really should have bought the last time. Only mods are fog lamps, a catch can that I have to put on, and fuzzy dice. I love every minute of my drive time now and I am not nearly as stressed out when I do get home.
If you love the Camaro then you already know what your answer is before you posted. Enjoy the ride!

You will be spending roughly twice the amount of money on gas going from the Prius to a V6 Camaro. Driving 200 miles a day that would add up quick. Something to think about if you have a set budget.

Dude, I worked as a travelling Therapist and probably drive like 90 to 100 miles on the busy day. And I have 2013 2LT RS and its the best car I ever have. I love the speed and comfort of it and it's worth the gas. Haha I don't really think about the gas now as long as I enjoy the car.

Just the opposite, actually. We have DI so no fuel is cleaning that crap off the valves.

I know right, my fault for going off topic on environmental stuff and taxpayer money. I drive a Chevy Camaro, that's as hypocrite as it gets.

Oh, and the OP get additional tax credit from CA.
Mikey is all wrong Goldman, he never saw a Tesla in person and the car is absolutely sick, sick, sick...
I work about 5 minutes away from their plant and I see everyday 8 or 9 Teslas, Nissan Leaf's you loose count and the same happens with the Chevy Volt.
I work in the Silicon Valley in the SF Bay area and I do work in the technology field.
I know nothing about mechanics, I know about how to check the oil and that's about it

I only have a 50 mile daily commute and I got the Camaro because if I have to spend that much time every day driving, I want to do it in style and comfort. I have gotten 30 mpg in my Camaro on long road trips, and I regularly get 24.5 on my daily drives 80% hwy 20% suburbia.
