Does anyone else keep their stock parts?
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to put this but if not I apologize and hopefully a nice mod will direct it to the proper place.
I'm just curious if anyone else here keeps all their parts for their car. I'm the type of person who wants to keep all their stock parts, in the event I need to take an aftermarket part off, or am having a problem I like to have the ability to put the stock stuff back. I notice many people here selling there parts and this is what sparked my interest in asking. Is the general consensus that you won't need them so might as well get it out of the garage? My little list of parts I've kept: I have 3 sets of wheels, 45ths and 2 sets of RS wheels. One set of RS is on my car powdercoated black. Stock exhaust and GMPP Mufflers: I recently purchased the solo cat back system from a member here. Stock airbox Stock reverse lights 45th dash inserts Stock Shiftknob 2 sets of stock Lugnuts (plus the chrome ones on my car) License plate bracket (this doesn't mean anything to me, glad I was able to remove it from the front my the car. As you can imagine this stuff takes up room lol. What does everyone else keep or not keep? |

I don't keep anything, sell the stock parts and make what you can. You'll probably get just as much money for them now as you would the after market parts later on if you trade it in and put it back to stock.

I got all my stock parts. The only thing I sold was the tires and rims.

I'm hanging on to most of my stock parts to reinstall when I trade it in. Dealers here seem to prefer a stock car as opposed to a modded car. I'll get what I can for the aftermarket stuff. I don't have that much so it doesn't take much space.

I'll only sell me stock parts when I sell my car; have always done that and I don't plan to change now. People want wayyyy too much for stock parts whereas I've given them away free in the past.

I kept my stock air box, windshield washer reservoir, shifter, center console lid. Got a stock intake tube if I ever trade in and take off the catch can. I gave my stock mufflers to a friend who does scrap. Gave the stock front milk crate grill away.

I sold all of my stock parts. I have no intentions of selling my car or going back to stock so I had no need for them.

I have all of the stock parts in case I want to put them on. It also is a plus if you sell your car yourself later on.

Keep for a short time, to make sure all works okay and then either sell or trash.

Someday the stock stuff will be worth more than the aftermarket stuff it was replaced with...not tomorrow or the next day, but someday!
