Best Radar Detector to Use???
Just curious if you guys have any recommendations for a radar detector and any photos you might have of the set up. I can't stand the chord flopping around so if you know of one that is more stealthier or integrated into the car somehow that would be more to my liking. I've read about the Valentine one and a few others just want yalls input.
thanks |

Escort Passport 9500 ci. Cost about $1500 installed a few years ago. Highly integrated and also jams laser.

Have the same passport and love it though something at my work sets it off. Nothing more fun than it starting to go off and seeing the cop about a mile later...

I contemplated buying one but I don't think it's worth the cost anymore unless you have a laser jammer and it's legal in your state.
So many departments are going to laser now and the average radar detector is nearly useless against it. They do have to shoot it by hand though so it can be easy to spot them. I just keep my speed reasonable except every once in awhile giving her a little romp when it's clear. It's easy enough to just know where they sit and don't just go blasting around all the time. Thats my opinion, it might be worth looking into what they're using in your area, NC seems to have a hard on for Laser right now.

Valentine One (V1) with an Invisicord. Taps right into one of the power slots in the back of your mirror. Super clean install, but it's not switched on 2014 models.
I run my V1 in the "long L" configuration - there are three settings (A for all bogies, short L which auto mutes and long L which filters out trash). I don't get many false alarms and with the V1 and it tells you if the threat is in front of you or behind. A timeless design that I won't drive without. But it sounds like you're going with the Escort Passport 9500 ci - that's okay too. |

Escort Max. Hasn't failed me yet and alerts far out and alerts are real threats.

I've been looking at the 9500 with the mirror dock. I cannot for the life of me find-
1. A package that had the detector, mirror mount and the invisicord. 2. Instructions or video on how the invisicord installs to mirror. I've seen a "smart" cord that connects to a normal cigarette lighter, seems redundant. Anyone see a kit or instructions to power off mirror? Pix help. I have an autodim mirror bit cannot see where it plugs in! |

are these really that much? $1500? I had no idea .... I am new to radar so I am sure the price is justified.

The Valentine 1 is only $400 and detects laser/radar but doesn't jam the laser. The one that is $1500 also included laser jammers that you place on the outside of your car to jam lasers, that's why it's $1000 more than normal.

Beltronics Vector V995 Radar Detector is one of the best radar detector known to me so far.. Its new autoscan mode intelligently reduces unwanted false alarms
