Vmax ported throttle bodies longevity
So I looked around and didn't see this question elsewhere. Has anybody had any issues with the ported throttle bodies. I have a 6month old 1LE and I am getting a new throttle body and giving mine as a core. My question is does it matter where my ported throttle body comes from? I mean my TB I'm getting could be from a 2010 and have 300k miles on it for all I know. Anyone else had these concerns? Has anyone had any issues with the throttle bodies they've gotten and what happens if they fail? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

I have had my VMax for more than 18 months with no issues.
Bo White is another one that is highly recommended. If the internals failed, the throttle would probably not open, open slowly, or stay open.

I did see that, I would consider the Bo White but I have a local dealer that I'm getting the Vmax from so no core issues. My car is my DD and I can't have a lot of downtime and I'd rather not pay the extra core and wait for my money back lol.

Thanks Bill so you just paid that core charge then? Or bought a new TB straight up and sent it to get ported?

I had issues with my VMAX. It would cause the car to go into REP mode and run like it was only firing on 7 cylinders.
I contacted the original vendor, who is no longer on this board about it and was basically blown off. I then contacted the owner of the VMAX Brand(Pete Incaudo) and he immediately set about rectifying the issues I was having. I shipped it to him, and he worked on it and shipped it back. I have had it on the car for the last 20k or so with no further issues. I was very impressed with the service I got from VMAX.

Yes the durability of the tbs is pretty good. Vmax can sell you one outright with no core I'm sure if that's what you want to do.

How do you know the PTB you got is new (as opposed to "remanufactured")? Who sells "new" (off the shelf) TBs - GM?

In 2011 Mike Norris ordered me a new throttle body and had it ported. I did not want a used one off someone else's. I have had no problems with mine.
