New Member from Texas...sort of!!

I have been lurking on the site for a week or so, soaking up as much knowledge as I can. I was turned onto the forum by Steve at ********, so thank you for that if you are reading Steve.

My name is Rodney and I am a Firefighter/EMT currently working in Afghanistan as a government contractor. I live in San Angelo, TX when I am home and on August 9th I purchased a 2012 Camaro 2SS/RS. I am learning a whole bunch about my car while I am away from her.

I spent a lot of time on another forum due to an addictive vehicle that you can't own and not add modifications to, a 2006 TJ Wrangler Rubicon. So I am hoping that this doesn't turn into the same thing. We will see.

To date I have already ordered a Cold Air Intake and a Corsa Cat Back Exhaust. My next purchase is a Subwoofer/System Upgrade that I will be purchasing from ********. I look forward to interacting with everyone on here. I have met great people through the Jeep Forums and I am hoping to continue that trend on here.

Rodney

Since I feel most threads are useless without photos here are a few that I have taken in the very little time that I have driven my car.

Just got her home!!

Another Angle...The cop is a neighbor, not stopping me already!!

The kids getting acquainted with each other, there was no fighting, but they both scream for my attention...LOL!!

Well Congratulations and Welcome, and believe me there are a LOT of mods you can do to an SS. Just you wait and see and make sure your credit card is pretty full

Welcome from a fellow Texan, Cool car. I've been deployed so I know what it's like to be away. Stay safe. I like the bike too.

Thank you to everyone for the welcoming. This forum has so much great information. I have already found a lot of answers to questions that I didn't know that I had. The fuse pull, disconnecting my center channel...all sorts of great information.

It is interesting being deployed out here, it is a little different because I get a vacation every few months, so no really long stretches for me. I served in the USAF for 10 years before, so I was not new to deployments. I was just new to how the Army deploys. Let me tell you that Soldiers vs. Airmen deployments are night and day. I always take the time to show my support and gratitude to the Service Members, they really do sacrifice a lot for our freedom.

Not sure what SIM is, but I am sure it is nice...LOL!! You have to forgive me I am still learning the terminology. I thought I had an LS3 in my Camaro until reading on here and I found out that because I sacrificed the manual transmission for the color I don't. I am still very happy with my choice!!

LOL you got that right... I remember during Desert Storm looking out of my nice Hotel room window at a huge tent city.

I'll let you figure out which service I was in.
