Not installed on mine, but I've driven one with it installed. Does great on the track, but it makes the car SUPER stiff. Not trying to sound dramatic, but it's quite honestly the worst car for street driving that I've ever been in. Hit a small bump and the thing bucks pretty hard, and if you do it at speed it takes a few cycles of the car bucking back and forth before it settles out. If you've ever seen or ridden in a ZL1 1LE where it bounces going down the highway, I'd imagine it's like that but worse because the the SS is missing a couple pounds as well as the extra downforce to help load up the suspension. I don't plan on installing this on my car anytime soon since I am doing mixed street and track use. Not worth the huge hit to street driveability for the slight gain at the track. Maybe someday I'll install it if I gut the car for all-out track use, but definitely not while it's still being used on the street.

I didn't, it wasn't on my car lol. Only place I'm aware of it being available from is the dealers that do performance parts. Not sure where or how much it was for the one I drove, though.

It's my understanding that the ZL1 1LE chassis bits are the same as the 1LE and the ZL1

Either way I'll be finding out since I've got the kit to install once I git up off my ass

You have this? ZL1 1LE suspension kit (both 84352121 and 84352119). If so, that's awesome. Can't wait to hear more reviews on it.

If I remember correctly, you had the GM lowering kit (springs/shocks-84188726), but not the SS 1LE swaybar / link kit (84242386). What's the reason you're changing this out for the ZL1 1LE hardware?

Yes, I have the GM lowering kit and the BMR adjustable sway bars.

I want the precision and transient response. I'll be retiring in a few years and will have more time to do track days. I don't drive it every day. I've had it almost 3 years and just under 10K so they won't be worn out by then. I am not adding the coilovers, just the arms front and rear and the rear spindle, see pic …

Since I have the SS 1LE, I can't use this kit, but I do plan on doing the solid rear cradle bushing kit. There is some movements from the rear-end I wanna get rid of. I might do the lower arms as well from BMR.

Depends on what you are considering as "chassis bits." If you mean the unibody structure then yes you are correct. If you add subframes to that, then the only difference is the rear subframe getting the solid aluminum mounts on the ZL1 1LE as opposed to the rubber bushings on the SS 1LE and ZL1 (SS 1LE and ZL1 are essentially identical in terms of suspension).

Other suspension differences between SS 1LE/ZL1 and ZL1 1LE are, IIRC, springs, dampers, and sway bars.

But, the main thing I was trying to get at in my previous post was that I found the springs/dampers/sways from a ZL1 1LE on an SS 1LE resulted in what I thought was a really rough ride on the street. The springs on the ZL1 1LE are a much higher rate than the stock SS 1LE springs, and without the extra weight that the ZL1 has in the engine and elsewhere you feel every little imperfection in the road. Not trying to say that's a good or bad thing or trying to convince anyone to do it or not since it depends on what people's preferences and planned usage of their cars, just sharing my experience with it
