ZL1 vs New 2018 Widebody Hellcat

Looks like they just uped their game and made an all around performer ...

Not limited .... Reg production 15000+ units ..

I'd take both...if I was rich. Both look totally awesome. Waiting for the GT500 Mustang, so all three can take pics.

Starts $7k higher than the regular Hellcat. Price is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I had a 2016 Hellcat, and I'll just say at 4500 lbs. the car will never be an "all around performer". To me they're just correcting a problem that should've never existed anyway. The customer shouldn't be penalized $7k for that. They knew those pizza cutter tires were inadequate. 3 years ago. Lastly, the fender flares are a no go for me.

Yeah, tell me about it man. Those fender flares really make this an eyesore. They need to throw this design away and start from scratch again if you ask me.

Until an all new chassis is developed, the cats just won't hang in the turns...they most certainly now the 1/4 mile & the market. It will be very interesting to see what a whole gen will be like.

Still, I cannot image paying more $$$$ for this car over what the ZL1 brings to the table for less jack...also agree about the flares, don't care for the side look but overall it's easy on the eyes.

My Tahoe had fender flares like that. I've never liked the way those cars look anyway, this does nothing to entice me.

Pfff if that's all I need to make a car and all around performer I'll just put Bushwhacker flares on my 2500 Duramax.

Seriously, at least attempt to make it look like it was part of the body. These look like a nice private job where some one put flares on and painted them.

Chassis is the same 10 year old daily driver/mom car. Still weighs 4500 pounds. All this allows is bigger tires which I guess is an upgrade?

Flares look good to me, I think some people are just being petty and bashing for bashings sake, and this from a guy that hates Dodge, Car looks ok to me.

Personally, I like the flares. It adds a little more flare to the slab sided design... not that I had a problem with the original hellcat. It was a flip of the coin when I purchased my ZL1...it's a win win either way.

Has anyone on this board actually run up against a Hellcat on a tire on the street/track? Lightly modded, these things run very low 10's on a DR without breathing hard. Trapping 138-140 in good air at 4500lbs.

I agree this is an outdated chassis, but this new wide-track upgrade from the Demon makes sense. Expect other subsystems from the Demon to find it's way to the Hellcat line-up down the road.

Dodge's real track car is the Viper ACR. I'm surprised this wide body Hellcat is only offered in a 6M. That is good thing for anyone running against one at the strip.

Who said anything about only 6M? It also comes in an A8 too... Optional ... Also the Viper is dead. Gone after 2017...
