Anyone have a reco for what angle of attack to start with? This is primarily driven at the track, mostly at Sonoma, some Laguna and Thunderhill too. I'm about a 1:55 at Sonoma. Scariest part of the track for me is turn 10 since the wall is there. I'm probably in the mid to high 80's there but should be in the 90's.

NLR has been getting good reviews in the Miata community for a while now... great to see they're expanding to other markets.

Most airfoil wings produce downforce even at 0 degrees, or even slightly negative angles. I would start at zero, and tune from there. If you've got more than stock front aero mods, maybe a bit more.

No front aero except I do have a garage labs hood vent which is purported to help some. Is there a way to extract MRC position data? That would help with tuning for sure.

I can weigh it when it's back from the shop and I get the brackets and endplates installed. Just judging from handling it, it's pretty svelte. The package as delivered was 52 lbs per UPS. But I'll get it on my scale in about a week or so.

What!? No I didn’t! I’ll have to give them some feedback on that.

Oh nice. Maybe it's in the mail. I plan on posting some install stuff to help others who might be interested so maybe that will prompt them.

I watched some of their youtube content and it seems many of their customers end up in the 1-2 degree AOA range. So I'll probably start around there. Looking at the downforce and drag vs. speed charts, it seems like a good place to start given my average speeds.

Got the wing back from paint and did some weighing.

I just stood on my Withings smart scale that claims precision to the tenth of a lb and repeated measurements while holding just the wing and then the wing plus the end plates, brackets, and hardware.

So... the wing itself is 15.1 lbs. everything else adds up to 4.0 lbs. So total weight is 19.1 lbs.

I’m going to try to install this weekend. No backing plates were included so I guess that’s not a requirement but I left a message to confirm. The fact that it attaches to both the top and the rear side of the trunk lid makes me feel better about that. But I may try to jury rig something to more widely distribute the force anyway.

I did a semi gloss trying to match the color of the mirrors and other black bits on the 1LE. That matches the stanchions and end plates pretty well too.

No front aero except the garage labs hood vent. I’m considering a front splitter but haven’t figured out if or which one. The decision might be complicated by the fact that I have supercharger mods that might interfere with mounting and airflow. Any suggestions?
