For people that have driven both FE3 and FE4 SS Camaros

I was wondering for those that have experience with both suspensions if you actually felt a difference on the street upon normal and spirited driving? I'm looking to find a 10-13 SS and am wondering if I should hold out for a 12 or 13 because of the improvements made to the suspension and otherwise over the other two model years. I'm really not looking to modify the suspension, so is it really that much of a difference?!

The outboard style rear bar transforms a 5th Gen. You can either find a good deal on a newer style suspension from the factory or budget for the upgrade on a older model.

JusticePete is right. I did the change and love it. Transforms the car. Worth changing the FE3 LCAs to the FE4...

I have a 2014 V6 so I went with JusticePete's sway bars because his outboard-mount rear bar does not interfere with the rear brakes like that rest of them do (so I've read); these bars make a huge difference in higher-speed handling by significantly reducing body roll, and with the bigger rear bar you can corner that much harder before understeer kicks in (compared to the factory bars).

In your case you could go with a 1LE/ZL1 rear bar and keep the SS front bar (same front-to-rear 5mm bias as JP's bars), or if you can spend a few more $ you can go with bigger aftermarket ones.

So would you guys think to go for a 12 or 13 for more money or go for the cheaper earlier models and upgrade the suspension?

It depends on the car and the price of the car. A killer deal on a pristine low mileage 10 vs a good deal on a high mileage 14, I'll take the 10 and update the suspension.
