Chevy Debuts Three Camaro Concepts and Limited Spring Edition Camaro at SEMA 2013
2014 Camaro Performance Garage Camaro
The first “FrankenCamaro” on display is the 2014 Camaro Performance Garage concept. Built from a 2014 Camaro SS, Chevy intended this concept to be track-oriented, which explains why it cribs quite a bit of hardware from the ZL1 and Z/28. The brakes and short-throw shifter are ZL1 parts raided directly from Chevrolet’s Performance catalog, while the short exhaust years, unique rear upper control arms, stabilizer bars, helical differential, brake cooling ducts, and dynamic spool valve dampers are all Z/28 parts. Chevy says the Z/28 parts are being “evaluated” for future a la carte release, but we hear their release is a safe bet. The Performance Garage concept also wears a ground effects package, a rear spoiler from the Accessories catalog, headlamps and taillamps borrowed from the uplevel RS trim package, and satin black 10-spoke wheels. 2014 Camaro V-8 Performance Concept In more ways than one, this Camaro SS-based concept closely follows in the footsteps of the Camaro Performance Garage concept. Beneath the surfaces, you’ll find the same ZL1 and Z/28 parts as the Performance Garage show car uses — but the surface itself is a little bit different. The V-8 Performance Concept wears five-spoke 45th Anniversary aluminum wheels instead of 10-spoke alloys, has a different exterior paint scheme, and a little nicer interior. Peek inside, and you’ll find Recaro bucket seats with Mojave stitching, soft-touch trim bezels in black, and other interior accents borrowed from Chevy’s accessory catalog. 2014 Camaro V-6 Performance Concept The Camaro’s 323-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 is left untouched on this show car, but the yellow Camaro V-6 Performance concept does gain some commendable chassis hardware. The show car wears a Brembo brake kit borrowed from a 2014 Camaro SS, while its suspension, dampers, and strut tower brace are carried over from the 2014 Camaro SS 1LE. The V-6 Performance concept also uses rear upper control arms from the 2014 Z/28, which Chevy says are presently “being evaluated” for its production performance parts catalog. 2014 Camaro Spring Special Edition [READ OFFICIAL DETAILS / ANNOUNCEMENT] Want something that’s certainly destined for production? Look no further than the new 2014 Camaro Spring Special Edition, shown here in convertible form. Available only on uplevel 2LT and 2SS coupe and convertible models, the special edition adds a unique Summit White exterior and Blue Ray racing stripe — a combo that likely reminds most F-body fans of the 1970 Pontiac Trans Am. Convertible models gain a matching blue soft top, but all cars gain blue-accent leather seating, a white interior trim kit with a blue stripe, a ZL1 spoiler, and a ground effects package. Pricing and launch timing will be announced at a later date. [READ OFFICIAL DETAILS / ANNOUNCEMENT]

I have always thought the hood vent on the SS should be either body colored or color co-ordinated with a single stripe.

I'm hoping chevy maxes out with 20" wheels with these specials although the spring editions look like 21-22s. I firmly believe one of the reasons the Dusk Camaro didn't do well was because of the 21s.

Interesting that the concepts with the RS lights don't have the chrome trim that normally comes with the RS package

Do the V8 and V6 performance concepts pictures have the wrong wheels on them according to their descriptions?

I'm digging that V6 performance! I could possibly let go of the synergy green for the Spring edition, that looks nice!
