Was the clean-slate S650 project cancelled?

Check out this article:

Not sure how accurate it is, but wow.

That will SUCK!! Even I am looking forward to the S650.

With what they have done recently, I looked at the S550 as a midpoint or trial run needed to go from solid rear axle to Camaro level IRS chassis design which would debut in the S650.

I hope this is just a false rumor.

I'm not so sure that this is as horrible as it sounds if you are a Mustang fan. I am sure that they will have a better platform sooner or later for a next generation Mustang, and sharing a platform isn't the end of the world. Whatever comes next will still have a heavy influence of light-weighting due to emissions standards. That's the big trend now. To me it's more of a matter of how long Mustang folks have to wait for the next generation, and how strongly the Mustang's needs influence the platform.

FYI, I don't really care if it's true but it is fake news.
