Even my M6 had a barely perceptible exhaust note when I got it. I cut the mufflers off the first week.

Yea stock exhaust is laughable. SW Retro Chambered FTW.

If you want to meet up for a drink you could hear mine. Or you could just check the exhaust compilation thread.

Nope. Just the axel-backs. Thought I'd take it a step at a time while searching for the right sound, and I'm quite happy with it just as is.

If all your worried about is the sound, just do a muffler delete. It will only run you about $125 to $200 at your local exhaust shop. It won't give you any more power because the CATs and resinators still restrict the exhaust and the resinators are enough to keep it from getting too loud.

I noticed this too. I expected a bit more out of a 6.2 V8 but i guess reading this thread it wont cost much to put it up there

Borla ATAK was my first mod for the same reason. It was worth it.

Oh okay cool. Like iv been told the AFM sounds awful on the L99 without it tuned out and i just wanted to see if you can here it(not using shifters). Just curious as im planning to purchase LTH w/ HFC's on mine soon.

Just FYI. Depending on how far you're going to mod your car, you might want to consider how loud it will be someday. I have the JBA 3" catback and it is way too loud now. I love the way it sounds, but I don't take it out at night or early in the mornings anymore. I let it roll out of the garage before I start it so it doesn't shake stuff off the wall in the living room. The ATAK, SW Retro 3", and probably most 3" exhausts in general might end up being louder than you're comfortable with in the end.

Just the JBA catback.

JBA catback and headers with catless connection pipes.

Same stuff and a cam with no tune.

Morning start after the car was tuned. I try and leave after all my neighbors are gone!

If I had to guess, I would say the car is close to twice as loud as it was with just the JBA catback. Food for thought.

I have headers and the SW retros and I could leave the neighborhood at 2 am without waking anyone up. All depends on how high rpms are. Shifting at 2500 would not be loud at all.
