Got $800 burning a hole in my pocket...what to buy
I've already straight piped it and based on the price per hp I've decided against an intake system. I'm dropping a k&n in and calling it good until I can spend some real money and do a cam and headers.
Having said all that, where do I spend 800 that won't mess with warranty. I'm kinda thinking about 3M wrapping the roof to match the hood. What else?? Thanks all Last edited by 1LE801; 02-07-2014 at 11:18 PM. |

Nitrous!
Just take the system off, stock plugs etc...before your dealership bound.

You could do LT headers now or brake upgrade, like the CTs-V brakes. If you are doing a cam you will need a cai so you could do that now. You could do cosmetic mod like ZL1 sideskirts too.

Bank it. Put it towards the best headers (American Racing Headers), so when your cam install arrises you can take full advantage.

Four track days. That mod will pay off for the rest of your life.

Go out and have fun burning up the tires...then you can put that $800 towards a new set of tires!!
Otherwise I would put it in the bank towards a future more expensive mod like LT Headers that will really wake the car up!! I wouldn't spend $800 just to spend $800. Make sure you are getting something you really want. As others have said too. Put it towards a few track days. You will enjoy the car like you never have before and really start to appreciate your car and then you'll really figure out where you want to spend money on mods for the car.

All good ideas. As far as paying off though, I haven't kept a car longer than 2 years in my life so paying it off really doesn't benefit me. I think I may just "bank it" and save for the cam install and tune. It's just hard to keep it stock lol. I hate having a car that isn't unique but seeing as how I sell them frequently, I have to be careful to tastefully mod it so that it's desirable when I do sell it.

A cam might be undesirable (to some) when it comes to re-sell time. $800 will buy you a nice set of Stainless Power headers with cats, if you choose the right vendor on here that is. If you want spare change left in your pocket out of a headers purchase, then TSP headers with cats it is. If you want to spend over $1000 for headers and cats, just for the "name" and warm fuzzy feeling it gives to some, then you will have to save up a bit longer then. No cats with the headers, and off road pipes, you just about might be able to squeeze in a CAI purchase , again if you shop around carefully and negotiate a "package deal". Competition is fierce, the economy is tightening up, shop around. |
