They are all race cars.
Street legal and raced = Street legal Race car
Street legal and not raced = Street legal race car that's not raced.
Not street legal and raced = not street legal race car that's raced.
Prius = verry slow race car

So that settles it then. Tom Mcgilton's ZL1 Camaro is the fastest ZL1 in the world period.....race car.....street car.....trailered.....non trailered.... street legal.....not street legal period.

Yep. If he became a Camaro 5 member and posted the slip I would put him at the top of the category #7 list.

It becomes a drag car when the front tires pull into the pre-stage beam.

Simplest answer.

Yep and if I had a trailer I would use it for Pumpkin, so I wouldn't have to swap wheels and tires twice in 6 hours. I'm just lucky that our shop is only blocks from the track and I can sneak to and from on the slick's and skinnies.

That's really a tough question. Although many of us have our cars registered, "inspected" and drive them on the street they are technically far from truly being street legal. I consider my car dual purpose, if you only use your car on the track, even if it's a 4 banger it's a race car. If you drive it on the street but don't race on a track it's a street car even if it's built like crazy, such as a pro-street car.

Yeah it is Mike. At a glance and except for the big rear tires and rear end, it looks just like yours.

Simple. Headlights, bumpers, wipers, treaded tires and turn signals are what it takes to be street legal.

Other than that, call it what you want to.

If he runs the time... put him at the top of the list.

I have driven my car 2 hours back and forth to the track and won Super Chevy and ran 10.07 on drag radials and skinnies. Likewise, I have trailered to and from various events across the country. Does it make less of a street car? No, I just choose to protect my investment.

On the other hand, I watched a guy explode his rear end with no way home. A trailer does not make it any less of a street car and makes you a smarter person in the event that these things happen.

I totally agree with everything you are saying. I have AAA towing up to 100 miles so I drive mine to and from tracks within 100 miles of home. If I break (knock on wood, I haven't ever) I don't have to worry about being stuck or having a huge towing bill to get the car back home.

The point here is this. Some guys want to mod the shit out of their cars that are registered with plates on them, claim it is a daily driver, a street car, not a race car and think it is the fastest car in the world bla bla bla. Then they want to claim that cars modded much more than theirs (and much quicker and faster) don't count even if they also are licensed and driven on the street because.....it's a race car, it's trailered, it's running slicks, it's got a roll cage bla bla bla. To answer your question directly, my definition of a race car is a vehicle who's sole purpose is to race and is NEVER driven on public highways such as Funny Cars, Indy cars, NASCAR cars.
