Car and Driver: Scat Pack vs GT PP vs 1LE - Full Article
To even things out the latest muscle/pony car comparison test picked this order:
While C&D said the 1LE was the best track car, it made too many sacrifices with the ride and cheap interior. The Mustang was much more polished and a better every day and all around car. The Mustang was the slowest in the 1/4. The Dodoge was just too big and heavy, but was the best limousine.

I read that in my copy of C&D as well. Fortunately, I would rather trade off the comfort for performance.

Being that the S550 is a brand new 6th generation and going against 5th gen Camaro, I would expect it to win. It's new and years of design, so if it lost, that would be a huge blow to Ford.

Still, none of these cars makes me want to get rid of my '13 1LE. Despite its drawbacks, I still enjoy going for a drive and look forward to them. But I do try to avoid bumpy roads.

read some highlights from the article. Basically seemed to me that they enjoyed the Mustang the most as a car you could drive everyday, admitted the Camaro is an incredible track car. gave major props to team camaro for making it.

I would think three similar cars with options specifically for track performance would be the criteria for "best car" .....Interior amenities and daily driver qualities would be secondary....
I can see this "competition" between these cars getting off-track (pun-intended)....And when it does, it's strictly a subjective and personal choice, not a "winner" when it comes to track times.... |

Interestingly enough, what I found surprising, was the C&D actually had the 1LE better in all performance aspects by margins much larger than MT did.
For instance, C&D measured 1/4 times of 12.9@111 for the Camaro and 13.0@113 for the Mustang. Also, road holding was separated by a much larger margin as well, 1.01g for the Camaro and 0.95 for the Mustang.

Didn't care enough to retain it to memory. I'll check when I get home.

Bring the funk!

For the kind of driving that I enjoy it would be the Camaro 1LE all day long.
That being said I'm looking forward to the new Camaro platform that's coming, I feel like there may be a trade in my future seeing that the new Mustang doesn't do a thing for me.
