the blacked out front looks like the crash bar is exposed, or the front fascia has been taken off.

I hear many compliments on the style of the 2016-18 Camaro. Never heard one on the 5th Gen except on this site. My Mopar friends mostly agree that the style of the 16-18 is sweet. I've never been a fan of "bubble Lights" on any car. They would be a deal killer for me but they should raise the value of the current models by a bunch.

The refresh is a total disaster, other than the 10 speed in the SS. Very disappointed with Camaro/GM. No wonder there was no fanfare, absolutely nothing to offer.

You are correct, me too. I don't care for the pre '14 tail lights at all. Cheshire Cat look.

I like the current rear bumper. The new rear bumper looks good too, but not necessarily an improvement to me. The tail lights look terrible bugging out like they do, unless they look completely different in person, which is possible, but I doubt it. If they had sunk in those 4 "ovals"?, I think they would've been spot on and something I possibly would've looked at as an upgrade for my 17.

Malibu tail lights and a charger front end. They should name it "MUTT".

You do have to give a refresh time. I originally did not like the '14 5th gen refresh from the back, but after owning a '15 ZL1 I now prefer it. As to the current non-ZL1 refresh give the new back some time. Give the new front I think a decade.
Chevy must show some select owners a preview before committing to the look. I volunteer for the next time! I think I helped finalize the ZL1 name. And I think I helped influence another 1LE decision. (At least in my mind. )

This center grill repaint from thefirstcause is a big improvment IMO but still not quite right:
But in all black, not as good. And the flowtie looks better to me in the grill as we have. Maybe Chevy did not want to step on the ZL1s toes.

When the 5th gens came out they were so ugly. I specifically did not buy one because how bad they looked. The 16's came out and i loved it. Thought it was maybe the best looking one yet. Now this, everyone can say it takes time to warm up to it but i dont agree. The moment i saw a 5th it was obviously ugly, the 6th was obviously the shit. And now the new one is ugly af again.
