2013 "Hot Wheels" Camaro in BLUE
Looking at buying one of these in a few days as soon as this ridiculous holiday season is over. I found a gem for around 33K with 4K on the ODO - it was a GM owned car as per the carfax. Basically, it's showroom - no blems, and drives incredible as compared to the 2010-2011 5th Gen DOGS I owned in the past. It seems GM must have got their shit together by the 2nd quarter of this year with the brand. My experience with 5th Gens has been terrible for quality issues, no secret here, I lemon law'd one of the turd convertibles and made my 2011 2SS/RS go away as well before the tranny fell apart. There seems to me to be a HUGE difference in the drive-ability of this car vs. the four 5th Gens I previously owned. I am actually very impressed with the smooth shifting of the manual transand the ride is completely different compared to the 2011's I owned.
I was actually out looking for the past 10 months or so for a Corvette, and drove many of them - passed on all of them. This thing tonight that I saw was a fluke, for my wife is the one that motioned me over to look at it. The color was very, very cool. A high metallic light blue. Upon getting closer to the car I saw it was a "Hot Wheels" version that I have never heard of. The car is absolutely gorgeous, I love it. Fully loaded except for the moon roof which I can go without. Questions: I am told that there were only a few of these made and late in the year. Of the few (500 I am told) only 272 were manual 2SS/RS cars like the one I am looking at. Is this true? So, in essence, it is about 10K below MSRP - which is good since you take a soaking on Camaro's off the lot as I know from experience. Deal is, if this is a rare car, it would more than likely be worth it to me. Does anybody out there have one of these things, and/or know anyone that does? |

I can't believe that you never heard of the hot wheels addition. But those do look sweet and that price is too. Collectable !

I remember somewhere that I heard they were thinking of it, but I pulled completely out of the GM thing over a year ago with my 2 screwed up Camaro's and the court cases. But, as I see it, they must have turned this car around because it drives world's different than my previous 5th Gens.

Burns my ass to a crisp they didn't offer a similar color for 2014 ZL1 or other models. Didn't have to be Kinetic, but a brighter blue looks great on the Camaro.

For comparison. Two in my area that won't sell until spring with less than 20 miles on them. V6 automatic $32,500 and V8 manual $39,000

I say go for it. Awesome color. Moon roof isn't an option on the Hot Wheels cars. Does it have the dual mode exhaust?

That HotWheels edition is sweet. Only color I like a little more then my Red Jewel. I'd say get it, especially if it's a LS3.

You sound like you are biased against the Camaro, the hot wheels edition you are looking at is mechanically identical to all the others. The only big difference is the paint color and the "Hot Wheels" badging, it is an appearance package. The hot wheels thing is not for me but I love the blue color. Good luck but if you think Camaro's are that bad you should beware.

Yes particularly weird that you of all people who had two bad Camaros a real freak occurrence .. would be considering a hot wheels Camaro and never have heard of them...and gee myself on my second problem free Camaro ss one of them having been a vert. You may be done sucking all the bad juju out of the Camaro universe from bad Karma.....?

The difference between my 2011 and my 2013 was substantial. The ride and way it drove was what sold me.
