Torque management is terrible in the ZL1. I was able to get around it somehow on my 11.2 pass. I read that 1.8 would be the best 60' one could expect to get in a stock Zl1, I got a 1.74. I think it will be possible to get into the 1.6s on street tires. I aim to experiment and put what little skills I have to the test...tomorrow. Unfortunately the heat has come to town. I don't expect any good ets, I'll be working on the launch.

There's maybe 10 lbs. difference, you're not going to feel it.

On the street - the C7 Z06 and 17' ZL1 "feel" the same from a dead stop to speed limit (70mph). While I owned them together I did back to back and side by side with my own car. On top of that I saved $400/month in payment and can put that to mod money

Z06 is definitely faster than the ZL1 but not by very much. Driver/owner will make or break the race.

Been trying to run accross a c7z06 or new zl1 here in central texas and it seems next to impossible to find one.... where are they all hidding at?

The SRT Challenger Hellcat weighs 4448 lbs, the SRT Charger Hellcat weighs 4575 lbs. They are both built on the same chassis.

I thought the z06 was 3700 lbs and the zl1 is 3900 lbs. anyway I put my car on the dyno today and it was reading 560hp, but only 505torque, so I think my theory of this car should be pulling harder than it is, is true. But now I have no idea what to do. I'm disappointed that the car isn't putting down the numbers that it should be. I would expect the torque to be very close to the hp. Can you take a car to a dealer and say this thing is 50 lbs of torque lower than it should be?

Does anyone else feel like their zl1 is no match for the z06? I know the zl1 is 200-300 lbs heavier than the vette, but man it feels like I've been using the valet mode compared to the acceleration of the corvette.
I had a 2016 SS supercharged with the A8. The ZL1 with the A10 is much better ( night to day difference). I love it.

I think it all depends on your needs. I recently swapped my ZL1 for a brand new 19 Z06 and let me tell you, it is a world of difference. The weight savings alone is worth the extra coin, IMO. I'm not large by any means and feel like the Corvette fits me much better than the Camaro. I probably sound like I'm trying to justify my purchase (maybe I am) but I've not had a single regret. The Corvette feels like a jet fighter whereas the Camaro feels more like a really fast tank. That said, they both serve their purpose very well. If you need back seats with a little more room and don't mind the extra weight, Camaro wins it all day.

There is a Hennessy video comparing the cars.

A10>A8 and ZL1 does not look like a kit car!

The biggest difference that I have felt between the Corvette and the Camaro, is rear-end stability when at the limits driving 9/10th and 10/10th.

The Corvette's because of their rear leaf spring design are twitchy and tend to snap oversteer, while the multilink rear-ends of the 1LE Camaro's are more stable and predictable. Randy Probst has mentioned this as well in past reviews. The Camaro puts the power down better and with more composure.

Up until 9/10th and 10/10th though, the Corvette's will feel sharper and accelerate harder.

This is before the Z06 overheats on any track... . ZL1 has better cooling.

Both are amazing cars ( I have both and a ctsv3) The Zl1 is better suited for a track if that is your thing (not mine I like mexico rolls). The Z06 is better for rolls and straighaways (I know not a word) and for turning more heads. Zl1 is more practical overall but imho the hellcat is better than both if you are not into the track. My next purchase will be a trackhawk after I dump the V (disappointing car). But back to the point the Z06 and Zl1 are badass and I'm just super fortunate enough to have both but if I had a gun held to my head to pick one out of the 3 it would be the Zl1 for practical and fun as a dd.
