one thing you guys should not let people lecture you on is the "investment" part of buying a car. this car isn't a financial investment we are possibly looking to profit on in the future, such as a first house or something.

this is our passion. we WANT the car and most of us want to own(not lease) it and drive it for a very, very long time. it's pretty clear from the last thread bagging on the camaro price most people nowadays have the mindset of getting a car every 3-5 years then dumping it. i do not ever, ever plan to get into that game.

I'm just paying for a different one.

It will actually cost less to drive the 1SS as it gets better mileage than my Truck.

Ditto, my car payment per month will be going up around $130. However I'll be in a 2016 2SS versus a 2011 2LT. I'd rather trade out my 2LT now, get something I really want, and finish paying the new car off sooner than if I waited to pay off the 2LT.

Splurged. Seemed like the best time to do since I may or may not have a wife and kids 5 years from now.

You need to know the money factor and residual to use it.

I don't think that's what he's referencing. He's talking about instead of fronting the 45k, you finance it. This prevents you from instantly losing the cash that you can otherwise invest and make interest. Although, you'd have to get a better interest rate on your return than you pay in interest on the loan.

that's what I said when I got my 2014. I thought I would be happy enough with it, but after doing some hard driving in my neighbor's ss, I just felt I NEED a v8. so this next one should be my baby for a long time as well... unless I test drive a ZL1 or Z28 in the future

I paid cash. Haven't had a payment on my vehicles or house (or any other type of "loan") for almost ten years. Life is good!
