I love the fact that 1SS will have the HID's standard this go around. I haven't found anything that states what the 2SS will have that the 1SS won't

the current 1SS does now with RS package.... same as the 2SS... neither have HID "standard equipment"
it comes with RS package |

The playbook shows the SS as the primary trim with 1SS and 2SS being the variations, just the same as now.
It also says that HID headlamps and LED tails are standard on the SS's. The variations between 1SS and 2SS will all be in the interior (Sound system, leather, ambient lighting, screens, etc etc) |

The custom lighting seems to be tied to the 2SS. I know my plan is to snag a 2SS this go around.

If I can get the MRC on a 1SS I'll be a happy camper. I plan on ordering Katzkin leather so I can get exactly what I (not GM ) wants color wise!

It's been verified that all 2016 SS models get HID and LED. Based on what I've seen in pictures, 2SS will add heated/cooled seats, driver seat memory, and the active interior lighting. I am guessing but it appears the base SS will now come with either leather or a leatherette. Like BMWs.

There are still tons of unanswered questions on trim levels...mostly I am guessing because GM hasn't quite determined what comes with what
