Update: Haven’t gotten the chance to bring it in to be looked at but as of now it only blows heat. No cool air coming in at all.

The borescope was only like 20-30 dollars on Amazon. I can send you the link to the video of your interested.

Thanks everyone. I will try this and see what I come up with. Hopefully I can take the car in sometime next week to be serviced if it is indeed low on freon. If it isn't then I have the new aluminum blend door on hand ready to install.

might be too late to chime in, but I took mine to Firestone for the $15 check up. they claimed so much and offered $1,900. well, I took it to a random hole in the wall place and turns out it was the valve right on top of the radiator. that piece was $15 and they charged me $220. that was a good deal because recharging the system in a vacuum is not something most people can do at home.

point is, get a second opinion if you haven't already.

ps/edit: no issues since.

edit2: buy a freon at autozone or whatever you have nearby. the worst that will happen is you will lose it all. it's a $40 trial. I did this.

Thanks for sharing this. You are right about getting a second opinion! I still haven't had the chance to have it inspected locally at a shop due to my work schedule. I'm hoping next week will be the week to get it inspected to determine the cause for the issues I am currently experiencing.

I also kept mine a few ticks off cold but it went anyway. It is like 1/4 warm all the time. I take the heater hoses off and put a bypass in it during the summer and it was never so cold as with no hot water going in there. In the winter I hook it up. To warm the cabin up I put it on recirc till i get comfortable and put it on outside air. If i get cold back to recic. Screw it im not doing that repair. Takes 5 min to put in the U bypass.

Update: The line with the cap that goes on top of the radiator is not cold at all when the AC was left running for a bit. Looks like it is out of freon. I still haven't gotten a chance to take the car to a shop yet to have a look at due to my work schedule and family life. Fingers crossed for next week!
