Npp and performance TV bb

Is an npp car any faster than a regular exhaust car ? I can find several non lss cars for sale but few npp lss cars. I know it,s a sound issue but would it be a deal breaker for you if the car had normal exhaust ?

The NPP exhaust is strictly for sound control and you will not see any performance benefits from it. In Sport and Track mode, the NPP exhaust can be louder than the regular exhaust and I highly recommend it if you do not want to modify your exhaust.

Today someone stopped me just to ask what aftermarket exhaust I had and to compliment the car. He was in shock when I told him its one of the exhaust that GM offers for the car.

I had the same comments a couple days ago. Two guys assumed I had major exhaust work done.

I know they're not sitting on dealer lots. But I would a hundred percent put in a factory order to get the NPP. It sounds absolutely fantastic while you're at it get a manual

I'm surprised that GM didn't list the NPP Camaro as +5HP as they did with the LT1 C7.

I'm with you guys, it's a sound thing, but am still surprised.

+1000 on the sound. My car sounds MUCH better than my stock C7 did (also had NPP)

I passed on a number of cars because they didn't have NPP or a sunroof

the pop pop pops are incredible especially in track mode

The pops are what keeps me out of track mode--or more so, manually shifting the car. If/when I get a tune, the first thing I'm going to request is to remove that "feature," if you will. It should all boil down to fuel starvation on deceleration.

We just had this discussion last week here. A person who went to Camaro fest last year and talk to the powertrain engineers; they said there was no horsepower increase for the Camaro with the NPP, unlike the C7.

Which is super odd, more so since the 2008+ C6 and the C7 the NPP has been a 5hp increase over the non-NPP cars. Same engine and same exhaust design/principle but yet one set of engineers says there is an increase and the others says there isn't.

Open vs Closed would definitely show a power difference. But I'm not sure if the non NPP exhaust rear section has the same construction as the NPP.

There is a thread where the NPP exhaust was cut open so you could see its internals. In closed mode it is very restrictive. Even the manual says that you should never go full throttle in "Snow/Ice" mode since it keeps the valves closed.

Anyone ever find a cutaway picture of a non NPP rear section?
