I understand where the negative reactions come from concerning reliability but at least I will have a dealer nearby

The issue is I buy cars with my heart, not brain, something many of you can relate to I guess.

Shame about GM Belgium pulling out like that..

For contrast, my dealer is about 3 miles away, and this is a small country

Yeah, what a joke. GM has been saying for years how reliable they are. Most people just laugh at that. If you believe that I have a Samsung Refrigerator I will sell you.

I think you misinterpret my post. I'm not worried.
I guess you have first hand experience with Jaguar, please share? I've done my homework. (and you must have silky smooth roads around you as you don't have any rattles )

Hi Nick!!,
that's a big loss for the European Camaro fans.. but having no support from the importer is not fun at all (and this is an issue for all the markets in Europe).

Indeed, I understand your love for the Jaguar F-Type, too. It was one of the options I had considered before going for the Camaro I own.. but the 2.0 Turbo was not out yet and had to go for the 3.0 V6 engine.

Have fun with your new ride but don't forget to come here by random!

See you!!,
Eos

Thanks Eos, yes I was confronted with the same dilemma when I bought the Camaro. Seems I'll be starting a thread on the jaguar forums within 1.5 years as well after all the subtle reactions here

Rattle has nothing to do with reliability. That is build quality which seems to be pretty good. Reliability has to do with issues like the A8 shutter. In the OP's case he won't have a dealer close enough to take care of issues so he needs a brand that he can get service on.

I don't want to deal with possible transmission issues as my dealer closed and the only other official one is too far out of my way and they bought their cars from my original dealer.
The interior quality (rattles, squeeks, headliner fit front sagging at the back, small gremlins like hoodlatch swith broken etc) intermittant shudder annoyed the hell out of me

Thank you all for the interesting reads it's been a pleasure. If the quality was better (although not too bad) I probably wouldn't have sold it after 1.5 years.

Nick

I'm staying in the same 'style' of car. Coupe 2.0T, picking it up next week

You got a lemon.

That piece of junk Samsung, man. We "inherited" one from the previous owner, and it was a total POS by design. The horrendous rear vent rattle was unfixable, and one day, after 2 repair attempts, the fridge just died altogether. A barely 3-year old, $2500 unit. Replaced it with something else and never looked back.
