I agree.... at one point the tech said the repaired wheel was removed from his care in a grocery carte and suggested that was when it was damaged.

Of course he was ignoring the fact the damage was noted in the shop BEFORE the tire was ROLLED out to the vehicle.

So glad I only gave them the wheel and not the car!

So I'm thinking that I need a full size front that will serve as a front spare and a temporary rear.

Does that make sense to anyone?
Makes perfect sense. That's why I carry a full size front in the trunk for long trips.

We optioned the pump/goop but it will only work on a nail size hole in the tread. This was as big as my little finger. A full size spare weighs over 65 lbs, plus a jack and handle.

Any scissor jack will do. You can get one from Harbor Freight for $20.

Exactly...... I do the same. Bought a complete set of spares from a member here on the forums, Took the two 20x9's to the painters along with my originals (20x9's), sold my original 20x8's on the bay, put the 4 newly RJT painted 20x9's back on, and kept one of the extra 20x8's as a spare in the trunk with a low profile scissor jack and 4/way collapsible breaker bar.

Will never leave home with out! Did the same for the '06 CSRT8 as well!

Exactly- When on trips I put a 20" front tire/wheel in the trunk of my SS. You can still get two carry on bags and more back there. This plus AAA and I will not be spending two or three days in butfuk Arkansas waiting while some yahoo tire store tries to find a replacement tire.
Locally I don't care but on my several trips including Florida and Canada I had peace of mind.

Here's what I'm confused about... Why did you have to use your cell phone to call OnStar? Couldn't you have used OnStar by pressing the button on your mirror?

CT has now agreed they caused the damage to the wheel. They will have it repaired and clear coated.

Well this week I got a tire from Tire Rack and CT put it on this time without damage. The wheel came back from Green's in pristine condition.

They now tell me that due to the design of the wheel the ONLY way to mount the 20 is from the front.
