Being on call as a Paramedic here in SW Minnesota... Listening to the state patrol on the radio worry about 3-4 new Camaro's with Michigan plates heading through Windom Minnesota this morning. Funny... Wish I was in Windom to see them go through on their way to Minneapolis today.

Thinking about driving down to Orlando on Saturday. The venue has it listed as a private event though... Not sure what's up with that.

I asked them about it. They changed it to "Trade Show". A little better I guess. Don't need to be scaring people off.

Thanks for the heads up Todd, but they may still be scaring people off...

From the event page... "Reveal of new Camaro to local media and invited consumers."

I just came back from the MN show and glad I went. Tom Peters as well as Jay (don't remember his last name) who is a test driver at Milford were there answering all of the questions we threw at them. First, I give Chevy credit for doing this. It was great to see the 6th gen in person, but it was especially nice to talk to the Chevy guys one on one. They were very enthusiastic. Anyone with a chance to go should definitely go. It's free to everyone (no invite needed).

Some observations:
- I love the interior, especially the steering wheel. It's not that much smaller than the 5th gen, but much nicer in quality and layout.
- Overall, I say the car in general looks more like a sports car, than muscle car and this hold true especially on the interior. Very sporty.
- The belt line is much higher compared to the 5th gen. More than I expected but it honestly didn't bother me that much (kind of liked it).
- Front visibility is better, but not the rear. I think the rear glass is smaller, but I'm not positive.
- The 6 speed shifter felt awesome and is a shorter throw than the current ZL1/1LE.
- The seats felt more supportive than they look.
- The trunk is tiny. I asked them if they considered a hatch (even a small one like the C7) and he said they go round and round all of the time about it, but numerous factors made them decide on a trunk.
- The engine bay has more room than I thought with good access to the plugs and more room around the rear of the engine due to the chassis layout. Certainly not as cramped as it looks in the pictures.
- Speaking of chassis, Tom said there is no need for a strut tower brace on this car because of the structural strength and the two rear bars that tie the strut towers to the cowl area.
- Tom went into great detail explaining how every little curve and crease on the front end contributes to aerodynamics and is there for a purpose including the heat extractors on the hood. He also talked about the ground effects package saying it increases down force when the complete package is installed.
- He also said they get better cooling with a larger lower grille compared to the upper grille.
- The NPP muffler is huge and has to weigh a ton.
- They changed the hill start assist so it's not as intrusive as the 5th gen due to numerous customer complaints.
- The bright blue is stunning in person and the black metallic looks nice as well.
- I asked if the 6 piston brake option will ever be a factory installed option and they don't have any plans and cited cost as one reason.
- I asked how does it compare to a 5th gen when pushed at the limits. Tom said you can really feel the weight difference and it's a more balanced car that surpassed the 5th gen 1Le in performance and is near the ZL1.
- I asked about a Recaro seat option and they didn't come out and confirm it; but I know there will be one.
- Finally I asked how the Z car testing was going and they were tight lipped as expected but confirmed they are testing it.

Excellent point to talk on... can you tell a little bit more about the hill start?

Great Review!! Thank You for inquiring about Recaro Seats!!

I wish some one will ask about the 1LE. Will there be one? If so, when?

Thanks!
