Forced Induction; Getting traction?

You folks that have gone either S/C or Turbo and pushing 600+ at the rear wheels.

What are you doing for tires?

Took mine out to the strip tonight for the first time since my turbo kit... I'm running P315/35/20 P-Zeros on 11" rims and simply put there was no traction. Was running 25-27 lbs in the tires.

I could sort out the bottom end of the gears... but as boost spooled up over 3500 RPM in First through Third I simply blew the tires off. There is nothing like spinning tire at 80+ mph.

Needless to say the ETs sucked.

So how are you guys hooking it up?

They do make D/R in 20" your not going to get traction with street tire's!

Get some v6 brakes and 16's that's what I'm doing for one last season! Then I'm doing the 15in wheel conversion on all 4 corners so I don't have to swap wheels and tires all the time!

Kevin went 10.8@135-136 here in arizona on just some 18" drag radials. Hell he still has them on the car driving around. No other crazy mods. Stock l99 Auto, twins, tires.

I was going to hit Kevin up and see what and how he was doing things.
Loss of traction @ the launch I can manage. I just couldn't come with a strategy that kept me moving and back peddle as the boost came on.

I don't really want to go to 18s... looking at some 315/20 DRs.

Yes on 305/45/18 M/T on 18X11 forged star wheel. I also run a p295/45/17 on bogrets with those time's. I'm a little slower on slick's.

When I was on the stock wheels I ran Nitto 555R. I was cutting high 1.50 and low 1.60 60'. If you try them smoke the hell out of them they need a lot of heat.

Is your drive line stock? I'd be afraid of getting after that hard for the 60' on stock axles and rear end.

They wont hold for you, You guys launch at high RPM with no load on the drive line. So with D/R you will need beefed up axles and diff.
