39 month lease with 10k miles a year buyout is 20k and some change.

Missing your payment and purchase price. Looks like the RV on a '15 2SS for 39mons is around 45%. So that would put your price around $45k for a $20k buyout.

In essentially every lease, you will end up paying more than you would if you have purchased and financed.

Not always true. On Jeep products right now, its a better financial desision to lease the vehicle and buy out then to finance. Assuming you can get the dealership to give you buy rate on the lease, which most will. It's equivilant to getting 0% on the finance side right now for half your fiancial cost on the car, plus a lot more rebates on the lease side this time of year on certain models of jeeps so you get a lower cost on the vehicle as well. While people say it may not be the best financial decision, and they're right, at 24 I say do what you want to do! I did almost the same thing in my early 20's. Leased a 2000 Impreza 2.5RS and modded the hell out of it (including a completely different turbo motor) and at the end of the lease I purchased it. As long as you get a good deal on the lease and are enjoying the car, I say go for it.

Ok assuming you put no money down, sounds like you got it right at the break point. The buyout is about $2k under the remaining cap cost, so that should cover any up front fees you paid. Definitely a rare deal.

If the MF is that low on them coupled with rebates driving the cap cost down, sure. I know Jeeps have high RV, just didn't know there were that many rebates. But that's definitely not typical shopping around. Prime example lease deals on the Mustang and Camaro right now are not good at all.

Lease rates always suck without mfr subvention, that will come along soon, they have 72000 of these to sell for 16 minimum..

Yes I've been screwed as a young naive buyer in the past so before I got the Camaro I tried my hardest to work a deal without allowing the dealer to give me the terms they wanted.

Good for you! My BMW is the first car I leased. While I didn't get really screwed, I could have done better with more knowledge. So you did great for your first time.

Yes, I would not advise a lease to buy on a Mustang or Camaro at this point in time. You would be speding about 5-8% more over the 6-7 years than a tipical finance.

Sooner or later we will see better lease deals. If you want to push product incentives are needed. Local dealerships have mostly loaded SS's and can't sell. I'll be in the market for one come the 2017 model.

I always lease...but

Money is always a consideration.. however- if we don't know your money situation, we really can't give advise on what you should do. Ir you make 35K or 400K, big difference when it comes to money. Now ME ON THE OTHERHAND....I have leased cars/trucks since 1990 I get bored with cars fast, I am a shitty mechanic & like having a bumper to bumper warranty for the entire time I have the car BUT mostly.....like right now, I lease a 17 2LT RS V6. Love the car, I would love to do a few mods i.e.: exhaust & intake but even if I have the dealer install the stuff and somehow get it covered under the warranty, when my lease if over, I would have thrown that money away along with my lease payments -except for the added joy it had given me.
Do what makes YOU comfortable & makes YOU happy.

Im 22 year old right now, i own a 2012 Camaro 1LT, had it for about 4 years now and it has just little over 32k miles. As you can see I dont drive it too much because im from MA and for like 3-4 months of the year it snows. Anyways, I modded my current camaro alot, but im not too big on modding it anymore. Especially with the Gen 6 camaro, the stock SS loves sexy enough.

My plan is too sell my 2012 Camaro, hopefully get around 17k for it, then lease a 2016 Camaro LT or SS, then every few years have a new car.

So back to the question, can you guys tell me the pros and cons of owning and leasing a car, and if your car is leased now, how do you like it?

Thanks in advanced!

Lease makes no sense to me , you always have a car payment every month.
In 4 years you can have a new car almost paid off. Keep it a few more years and put the money in the bank.
