We all make mistakes, brother. Learn from them and move on with your life. Contacting the manufacturer of the bulbs is probably a waste of effort. Let us know how things work out. You may have prevented another Camaro owner from replacing his bulbs with defective replacements.

I love my headlights, wouldn't want to change them for anything.

There are serviceable components in the headlight assy. You may want to look at parts illustration on site like gmpartsdirect.com Most likely the workorder from your dealer is visible to other dealers. I would try another dealer and be up front when you bring it in on exactly what you did and what happened.

The dealer isn't screwing anyone. Someone put cheap headlight bulbs in the headlights and blew them. Now why should the dealer pay for that?
The dealer is the one trying not to get screwed here |

As the years go by and the computer systems get more advanced, the ability to change out part to non OEM will disappear. Some of the more advanced systems can identify the parts used in the vehicle and will not work correctly or time stamp on the SSD drive in the car of a change in system. Most high end cars have this and is filtering down the line! That's why the first thing the dealer does is plug the vehicle into the Chevy system verifies the VIN and shows the Tech everything that is run by the computer and registers as a change.

So i guess this bars me from getting the new oracle headlights
Which I wanted badly what do you think. If something electrical goes up they will blame the headlights.

Casalino is "right on".. Most of the advice on this thread is how to screw GM by putting back the original bulbs and playing dumb. Honesty works both ways.

I try to avoid dealers as much as the next person, but when an aftermarket part causes a direct component failure, it is kind of hard to say that the dealer is screwing you by not replacing the component free of charge without any questions asked.

Since you blew out both HID's and apparently damaged the light housings, it sounds like there was a bulb/ballast incompatibility. The listing on amazon does mention the bulbs carry a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer (not amazon). Here is a post detailing one potential problem (gap in the harness connection): http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...on-brand-named The guy is not exactly describing it right. The gap will cause the BULB to draw more current from the ballast, thus overloading the ballast. |

Look at the questions I'm asking on this thread I made. It has nothing to do with screwing anyone over. My goal was to ask for help for you guys are just bashing one another. Still looking for answers for my questions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
